New eatery alert in Subang Jaya’s gastro hub!
Specializing in Hatyai style fried chicken and it’s the first outlet of Thailand.

What we tried:

🍗 Chicken Combo (RM16.90 / 1 pc chicken or RM21.90 / 2 pc chicken) - Fried chicken served with glutinous rice and eaten with special chili sauce and fried shallot (both made in-house). Set includes a drink.

🍚 Rice Bowl (RM15.90) - Similar ingredients to the chicken combo but all mixed together in a rice bowl form. This comes with normal steamed, not glutinous.

🌯 Wraps (RM10.90 small / RM12.90 medium) - The wrap itself is glutinous rice and filling is chicken and it comes with four flavor options.

🍗 Fried Chicken Skin (RM13.90) - Deep fried chicken skin coated with house-made sauce

🥗 Som Tam (RM6.50) - Thai mango salad

Interesting to eat fried chicken with glutinous rice and I’d recommend you eat it with your hand (gloves provided), somehow tastes better 😋

Check it out!

📍 MangoBox , Ss2 Petaling Jaya

Randomly decided on this place through our Google finds. It’s right behind DurianMan. Only opens at 5pm

The vibes and set up really remind me of my childhood days when people would go to such casual no-frills places for western food. Don’t come to such places look for quality ya 😅 The food quality is not bad at all and they’re really generous with their portions! Extensive menu.

Also just realized everything we ordered that night was RM9.90 😂

If you’re looking for budget friendly place for western food, can check them out.

📍 JADI BATEK SINCE 1976 , Kuala Lumpur

If you’re looking for a chillax group activity in KL, can consider batik painting / drawing. I recently went to this batik centre (very near TRX) with my friends and its was pretty fun!

The place is comfortable with air-conditioning and it’s also clean. Staffs are friendly and organized. Highly recommend to pre-book if you’re coming in a group and especially if you’re opting for weekends. We were there on a Saturday and our slot was 3pm, it was full house. Company group, tourist group, all sorts of groups 😅

Our group chose mini and small sizes 🎨 only and it took us no more than 1.5 hours to complete (including drying).

It’s literally only about 5-10 mins walk to TRX so you can head over to the mall for food after the activity 😄

Can get slightly cheaper prices for groups of 10 pax and above. Call or WhatsApp them to enquire.

📍 Ramen Mob , Genting Highlands

Nothing like a hot bowl of ramen on a chilly day up in a highlands 🥰

Was in Genting recently and had our lunch at Ramen Mob in Antara Mall before heading back to KL. They have a good selection of soup and dry ramen, donburis (rice bowl) and light bites - something for everyone!
Besides their classic ramen combinations, I also like that you can choose to “build your own” ramen by selecting your preferred broth and meat 👍

What we had:

🍜 Kuro Chashu Ramen (RM42.90++)
- Black garlic infused oil combined with their signature shiro soup for that bursting garlic and creamy pork goodness. Chashu was nicely charred.

🍜 Niboshi Buta Katsu Ramen (RM43.90++)
- Shoyu broth is a combination of soy sauce with niboshi which consists of small dried anchovies. A rich savory soup bursting with umami. Paired this with deep fried pork cutlet for a change.

Overall a satisfying meal. Remember to check them out the next time you’re in Genting!

My fam and I recently tried this new Nyonya restaurant in SS15 with reasonable prices. I gotta say, it's not easy to find Nyonya food with reasonable prices, most restaurants only offer made-to-order dishes type of food and the prices aren't something you'd go for daily meals.

📍My Rasa Nyonya @ SS15 Subang Jaya (same row as Gold Chili & Darussalam)

This place doesn't have fancy pants deco or set up, just a simple casual makan place (with aircond) and nothing is above RM20 in their menu. It’s affordable enough to consider for your daily meals. You can go for their rice sets or ala carte dishes and they also have light bites for tea time like pie tee, otak-otak, roti jala, kuih and fried wantan.

Owners are Chinese & Malay and recipes are from the Chinese owner's Nyonya mum and grandma. Menu is pork-free.

Taste wise, generally I'd say it's pretty good and quite close to my family's cooking. I'm half Nyonya and my mum is full Nyonya, she approves of the food too That said, we all can agree that food taste is always subjective and every family has their own recipes and ways of cooking 😊

Do drop by and give them a try 👍
