Why do we do what we do at Simple Matter?

It comes down to this: we love coffee, and we believe a good cup should be easy to enjoy — anytime, anywhere. Simple Matter was born to bridge that gap between quality and convenience.

We roast with intention, crafting coffees that calibrate easily and reveal their tasting notes without the guesswork. And soon, we’ll be introducing coffee products designed to go with you wherever life takes you. Simple, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

Because great coffee shouldn’t be complicated. It should just be good.

Single-use packaging adds up.
A café using 40kg of beans a month goes through 480 one-kilogram bags a year (all for coffee that’s gone in days).

With our Reusable Bucket System, that same café would use zero single-use bags and only the equivalent of 180 pieces of packaging a year.
That’s a 62.5% reduction in waste, without changing how they brew or operate.

A little peek into how we think about roasting at Simple Matter.
Do we chase a signature style or simply let each coffee speak for itself?

Over time, we’ve naturally grown into our own rhythm. Our approach, our process, our machine. They’ve shaped a profile that’s recognisably ours and we’re proud of how our coffees now behave in the cup: clear, expressive, and true to their origins.

Most importantly, we roast with one goal in mind. Coffees that are easy to calibrate and even easier to enjoy. Flavours that don’t hide. Profiles that are consistent. Cups that simply taste the way they should.

Because roasting, to us, is about bringing out the best in every bean. Honestly, thoughtful, and in our own Simple Matter way.

Our Typhoon Roaster is now in the house, and we couldn’t be more excited.
This beauty is where all the magic (and a lot of testing, tasting, and fine-tuning) begins — the core of what makes Simple Matter, simple.
