Progress rarely looks polished while it is happening.

Here is a quick look at some of the work taking place at Farm Welkom in the Omaheke Region — from cattle-handling infrastructure and loading facilities to the operational backbone supporting Sandveld Cattle & Game, Nam Meat Factory & Omaheke Biltong Farmstall.

The finished product is only one part of the story. Behind it are the planning, brickwork, welding, dust, livestock, problem-solving and daily ex*****on required to build a properly integrated farm-to-market operation.

We are not building for a quick season. We are building practical infrastructure and long-term capacity for the future.

As the winter days get shorter, we will be adjusting our closing time for June and July.

⏰ Monday – Saturday: 08:00 – 17:00
⏰ Sunday: 09:00 – 15:00

From 1 August, we will return to our normal closing time of 18:00.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Whether you're stopping for biltong, frozen meat, cold drinks, or a quick break on the road, we look forward to seeing you at the farmstall.

Cattle Sugar? 🤔🐂

​The livestock equivalent of three double espressos and a Red Bull. ⚡️

​It’s not actual sugar, though. This is hominy chop—a powerhouse byproduct of the maize milling process.

​When maize is milled for human consumption, the nutrient-rich outer layers and germ are separated. What’s left is an absolute energy bomb packed with high-quality fats and starch.

​It’s one of the most widely used feed ingredients across Southern Africa. 🌽

A small but important step forward for the operation. 🇳🇦

Loaded the feed mixer and tractor this week as we continue building out the system at Sandveld Cattle & Game.

Still plenty to learn, improve and refine, but every piece added now helps build a more efficient and sustainable setup for the long run.

The goal stays simple:
Better feed management.
Better consistency.
Better cattle performance.

One step at a time.

The best kind of teamwork. ⚖️🇳🇦

​Harvesting camelthorn peule is one of our favorite seasonal traditions. It’s an incredible team effort, with spouses and children joining in during their free time to collect pods across the veld. 🪵

​About 1.5 tons weighed today in total! 🎉
​Beyond putting extra income directly into the hands of our farm families, it utilizes a highly nutritious natural resource to supplement our herd.

Here’s a glimpse towards the end of the weighing session today! ☝️
