𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

NBL's Public Affairs and Sustainability Manager, Franklin Angermund, delivered the keynote address at the opening of the International University of Management (IUM) Cultural Festival in Windhoek, themed “Preserving Heritage, Celebrating Unity”.

Speaking on the role of alcohol in cultural heritage and community life, he told festivalgoers and students that heritage is about culture, language, and tradition, and equally about preserving the talent, potential, and aspirations of the generation that will inherit the responsibility of building Namibia's future.

The address focused on informed decision-making and responsible consumption, including the importance of alcohol-free workplaces where safety, performance and employee wellbeing are priorities.

He also shared the latest Namibia Road Safety Forum data: up to 9
August 2026, road crashes are down 10%, injuries 6% and fatalities 10% compared with the same period in 2025. That progress reflects collective action between government, law enforcement, civil society, business, and the youth.

NBL supported the festival, which ran from 27 to 30 August 2026, with non-alcoholic beverages.

This is our Low. Slow. No. mantra in practice: choose lower-alcohol options (Low), drink slowly and in moderation (Slow), and say no to drinking and driving, underage drinking, and drinking while pregnant or on medication (No).

Today, we join all Namibians in honouring Heroes' Day, remembering the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for our independence. Their bravery laid the foundation for the country we call home.

But heroes don't only belong to history. They show up every day in the drivers who deliver our products come rain or shine, the operators who keep our brewery running safely, and the teams behind the scenes making sure every bottle meets the standard our consumers' trust.

This year's theme reminds us that unity, resilience and progress are things we build together. At NBL, we see that spirit in our own people, the everyday heroes who show up, do the work, and help move Namibia forward.

To everyone who has ever sacrificed for this country, and everyone still building its future: thank you.

Namibia Breweries Limited and Windhoek have renewed their Namibia Rugby Union sponsorship for 2026, backing the game with a N$2 million investment.

National teams bring Namibians together with a shared sense of pride and identity. As a proudly Namibian company we are demonstrating our continued commitment to the country and communities that have supported NBL for more than 100 years by backing the game at every level, from grassroots to the Welwitschias.

It's an exciting time for the sport, with our Under-20s defending their Rugby Africa Under-20 Barthés Trophy title in Uganda, competing at the World Rugby Under-20 Challenger Trophy in Chile, and the Sevens programme returning to the international stage.

👷 A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
💻 Experience with MS Office, with Maximo or SAP experience an advantage.

This past Saturday, we joined NARETU (Namibian Revolutionary Transport and Manufacturing Union) as they celebrated 5 years of putting workers first! The day brought health screenings, financial wellness advice, and road safety awareness to around 400 workers.

Our Public Affairs and Sustainability Manager, Franklin Angermund, spoke on responsible consumption in the workplace, a message that matters most for the drivers and operators who keep our roads and industries running safely.

𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲: 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁.

We employ 974 people directly, but our impact goes way beyond the brewery gates. In FY25, NBL's operations helped support around 10,384 jobs across Namibia, that's roughly 1.9% of the country's entire workforce.

Those jobs show up in places you might not expect: our drivers on the road, farmers growing our ingredients, bar and restaurant staff serving our brands, and people working in construction, ICT, and more. Transport, trade, and hospitality alone account for over 3,700 of these jobs, with another 1,400 in agriculture and food production.

All in, our activity helped support close to N$2.0 billion in household income in FY25, real money reaching real families across the country. As we keep brewing and growing, we want that ripple to grow with us. 🍻
