The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zheenbek Kulubaev, paid a strategic visit to Meatco on 22 May 2026, in a significant diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture and meat production between Namibia and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The high-level visit highlighted Namibia’s internationally acclaimed premium beef industry and Meatco’s competitive position in global markets, where Namibian beef continues to rival leading exporters such as Brazil and Uruguay.

Minister Kulubaev and his delegation toured Meatco’s operations to gain insight into Namibia’s advanced agro-processing systems, export standards, and livestock value chain management.

The visit forms part of ongoing diplomatic engagements focused on knowledge exchange and future collaboration in agricultural development.

The Kyrgyz delegation expressed keen interest in learning from Namibia’s expertise in agro-processing and meat export development as the Kyrgyz Republic seeks to strengthen its own processing and export capabilities.

Meat production remains a cornerstone of the Kyrgyz Republic’s agricultural sector, deeply rooted in the country’s rich nomadic heritage and vast alpine pastures. The sector produces more than 400,000 tons of meat annually, primarily beef, mutton, and horse meat, with cattle and sheep farming dominating the livestock landscape.

The visit marks an important milestone in Namibia–Kyrgyz diplomatic relations and further positions Meatco as a key player in international agricultural cooperation and knowledge-sharing.

🚀 Meatco Achieves 45% Norway Quota Utilisation by April 2026

By 17 April 2026, Meatco achieved 45.2% utilisation of its annual Norway beef export quota—our strongest early-year performance on record.

âś… 521,017.59 kg exported
📦 Annual quota: 1,153,477 kg
📊 That’s a huge leap from 29.2% in 2024 and 23.4% in 2025

This performance represents more than a 50% increase compared to last year and reflects a real breakthrough in how we access and supply premium export markets early in the year.

The momentum is driven by strong Norwegian demand, sharper commercial ex*****on, and disciplined operational planning—delivering real value for Namibia’s producers and the wider economy.

“This is not incremental progress; it is a structural shift in how we execute. We are no longer chasing opportunities—we are capturing them,” — Ambassador Albertus Aochamub, Interim CEO

🇳🇦🥩 This milestone reinforces Namibia’s reputation as a trusted supplier of premium, traceable beef to high-value international markets.
