Some people come into your life and quietly become a constant source of strength, comfort, and reliability. ​I was looking through my gallery today and stumbled across this video of two incredibly dear people visiting my kitchen.

While it’s always a joy to host loved ones, it made me stop and reflect on the absolute blessing standing right there, a friend who has been a true anchor for me since 2013.

​In 13 years of friendship, through every important milestone, she has been right there. She was by my side when I got married, when I had my first child, cheering the loudest when I published my first book and then my second, and right there supporting me when I opened my kitchen.

​What blows my mind the most is that in over a decade, we have never had a single row, a fight, or a dramatic quarrel. We’ve had our minor disagreements like anyone else, but never an outburst where things got ugly. That is just who she is: peace personified, completely unproblematic, zero drama, and pure light. She never seeks the spotlight, but all I ever have to do is reach out, and she is always there in my corner.

​I am learning not to wait for special days or big milestones to celebrate the people I love. I want to give people their flowers while they are right here to feel it and enjoy it because we only ever really have right now. ​So today, I just wanted to publicly appreciate, love on, and celebrate a sister who has been my constant standard of true, peaceful friendship. Thank you for being such a beautiful soul in my life.
