🐔❤️ One day, I will have a farm like this…

Looking at this picture, I can’t help but imagine myself having a big, beautiful poultry farm filled with healthy chickens, turkeys, plenty of eggs, proper housing, an incubator room, and enough space for my birds to move around freely. 🐔🐓🦃

And honestly, I would love to get to the point where I can communicate with my chickens like this 😂😂. Not just feeding them and collecting eggs, but actually understanding their different sounds, knowing when something is wrong, and somehow having that “farmer and chicken connection.” ❤️

Because being a chicken farmer isn't as easy as people think. There are days of cleaning, feeding, monitoring, worrying over sick birds, losing birds, dealing with changing weather, expensive feed, incubation problems, and sometimes waking up wondering, “What is happening in this poultry house again?” 😩😂

But despite all of that, I still love it.

Every chick that hatches gives me hope.
Every egg laid feels like a little achievement.
Every healthy bird reminds me that the hard work is worth it.

I may not have the big farm yet, but I’m building towards it one bird, one egg, and one lesson at a time. 🐣🐔❤️

One day, I’ll look around at my farm and say:

“It wasn't easy, but I didn't give up.” 🙏🏾

Who else dreams of having a big farm someday? 🌱🐔🦃

New Additions, Big Feelings 🐥❤️
There’s something special about welcoming new life into the flock. These little ones just arrived and somehow already made themselves at home. Watching them has become my favorite part of the day sleeping in the funniest positions, waking up only to eat a little, then curling back up like tiny fluffy balls without a care in the world.
As small as they are, they brought so much peace and joy. Every nap, every stretch, every sleepy little movement became something to smile about.
Now the time has come for them to move into a new home where they’ll be loved and cherished, and I’m happy for them… but I won’t pretend I’m not a little sad too. I’m already missing their funny sleeping styles and the quiet moments of checking on them and finding them all piled together.
Grow well, little ones. You may be leaving my brooder, but you’ve already left tiny footprints on my heart. 🐣💛

From Almost Lost… to One of My Proudest Brahmas 🐥❤️
This little Brahma has a story.
The egg was covered and incubated by a Brahma hen, but when it finally hatched, things went wrong. The hen accidentally laid on the chick. Its toes were badly damaged, its head had been pressed into the sand, and the navel hadn’t healed properly — part of the intestine was even outside. When I found it, it was almost lifeless.
I honestly didn’t think it would make it.
I quickly took the chick to a local hen that was already hatching some of my Brahma eggs. I gently slipped the chick under her from behind and hoped she would accept it as her own.
At first, she pecked the chick a few times… then something changed.
She quieted down, tucked the chick under her wings, and covered it.
That was the turning point.
Day by day, the little fighter kept going. Healing. Growing. Refusing to give up.
Now, looking at how far she has come and how beautiful she has grown, I’m grateful I got there when I did. Sometimes all it takes is one moment, one decision, and one second chance.
Nature can be harsh, but it can also surprise you.
From almost gone… to this ❤️🐔

This farming journey humbled me this week.

I lost my two turkeys, my biggest tom and my laying female.

Not because I didn’t care.
Not because I didn’t try.

But because of decisions that seemed simple.

Changing feed from one product to another at the wrong time can place stress on birds. Combined with unfavorable weather, and while battling pox and cold, it became too much for them.

Painful lesson:
Small management mistakes can become expensive mistakes.

What I’ll do differently:
✔ Gradual feed transition
✔ Better weather management
✔ Faster response to health changes
✔ More preventive care

I’m sad.
I’m disappointed.

But I refuse to quit.

Every loss carries a lesson, and this one will make me a better farmer.

For now, our Brahma babies are doing great and reminding us that life on the farm continues 🐥❤️

We rise again.

Today was a very sad day on my farm. 💔

I had to make the painful decision to unalive one of my biggest and healthiest turkeys because I didn't want to return from work and find it dead. What started as a simple change of feed, combined with severe mosquito bites, turned into a serious health problem that it couldn't overcome.

Despite my efforts to care for and treat it, its condition continued to worsen. Watching an animal you've raised struggle is never easy, and making the decision to end its suffering was one of the hardest choices I've had to make as a farmer.

This turkey wasn't just another bird in the flock it was one of my biggest and most promising birds. Losing it hurts deeply.

This experience is a painful reminder of how important proper feed management and mosquito control are in poultry farming. Sometimes, even when you do your best, losses still happen.

Rest well, big boy. 🦃💔

Days of Little beginnings

26/05/2026

After a lot of adjustments, testing, checking temperature, reducing humidity, opening ventilation, and trying to get everything stable… my local incubator is finally almost ready for tomorrow’s incubation 🥚🔥

From using a lamp and bulb for heat, to removing excess water sources, to monitoring temperature like a scientist 😅… this process has already taught me patience.

Today was all about prepping the eggs:
✏️ Labeling and marking each egg with pencil
📖 Getting my record book ready
🌡️ Monitoring temperature closely
💧 Adjusting humidity little by little

Tomorrow, the real journey begins.

This is more than just hatching eggs for me… it’s an experiment, a learning process, and proof that you can start with what you have.

Stick around and enjoy the ride with me as we see what this local incubator can achieve 🐣🔥
Chicken eggs? Turkey eggs? Hatch rate?
We are about to find out together 😄

Just few weeks after my Brahmans hatched their babies, these hardworking mamas are already back to laying eggs again 🥚🐔

But this time, I’m being extra intentional with every single egg. No random collection, no “let’s just see what happens” 😂. I’ll be documenting my full journey of hatching these eggs myself using my local incubator.

And because I love experiments, we’ll also be comparing:
🐣 Local hen incubation
VS
🥚 Local incubator hatching

Which one gives better hatch rates? Stronger chicks? Less stress? We’re about to find out together 😅

So stick around as we test, learn, make mistakes, celebrate wins, and hopefully hatch plenty of fluffy Brahman babies along the way 🐥❤️

The journey officially begins… 👀
