11 YEARS AGO… GOD KEPT ME. 😭❤️
Today marks exactly 11 years since one of the darkest seasons of my life.
I was a young student when I began experiencing terrible abdominal pains, extremely painful menstruation, painful urination, and other frightening symptoms.
I was eventually rushed to the hospital and spent three weeks there. I was told that I had a severe urinary tract affecting both kidneys. I was passing stones in my urine, my feet became swollen, and my body went through things I could barely understand.
I was still a student. Examinations were going on, but I was in that hospital fighting for my life.
After I eventually left the hospital, the battle continued for months.
There was one particular night I will NEVER forget.
I suddenly struggled terribly to breathe. I was gasping for air despite being in a well-ventilated room. My siblings were around me praying, and I remember being so terrified that I stayed awake through the night.
I truly thought I might not make it.
But GOD. 😭🙏🏽
Somehow, I made it through that night.
And that was not the end of my story.
ELEVEN YEARS LATER… I AM STILL HERE. 😭😭😭❤️
I have gone on to become a mother of THREE beautiful children. 🥹
I have watched God carry me through seasons I never thought I would survive.
And this year, after all these years, I decided to have my kidneys checked again.
The doctor looked at my results and told me my kidneys looked very healthy and active.
Bestie… I could only cry. 😭😭😭
Because I remembered the girl from 11 years ago.
The girl who didn’t know if she would survive.
The girl whose future was uncertain.
And now…
LOOK AT ME. 😭❤️
I AM STILL HERE.
I AM A MOTHER.
I AM BUILDING.
I AM DREAMING.
I AM LIVING.
And I am completely overwhelmed by the goodness of my Heavenly Father. 🥹🙏🏽❤️
I don’t know what you may be going through today, but I want to remind you of something:
Your current chapter is NOT necessarily the end of your story.
Sometimes all you can do is hold on.
Sometimes all you can do is pray.
Sometimes all you can do is survive one day at a time.
But keep going.
Because God is still writing. ❤️
Today, I am not asking God for anything.
I just want to say:
THANK YOU, DADDY. 😭😭😭🙏🏽
Thank You for keeping me.
Thank You for giving me another morning.
Thank You for my children.
Thank You for my life.
Thank You for every battle You brought me through.
Thank You for loving me when I didn’t even understand what was happening.
I AM LIVING PROOF THAT I HAVE A HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVES ME. 🥹❤️
11 years later…
I AM STILL HERE.
And I will keep declaring the goodness of the Lord. 🙏🏽❤️
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” — Psalm 118:17
Happy 11th anniversary of being KEPT by God. 😭❤️🙏🏽
