🌾 WHY I REFUSE TO GIVE UP ON THIS BRAND

Sometimes I look at the pap business today and I honestly ask myself…

“Chinyere, are you sure you want to keep doing this?”

Because the truth is, pap making is becoming increasingly crowded.

What once felt like a unique idea has now become the dream of so many people.

And yes… there are days when the slow sales can be discouraging.

But somehow, I keep coming back.

Why?

Because deep down, I believe there are people who want what I make.

Maybe they just haven’t discovered me yet.

Maybe I haven’t advertised enough.

Maybe I haven’t told my story well enough.

Maybe I haven’t given enough people a reason to trust my products.

Maybe I haven’t built the community that will understand exactly what makes D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS different.

But I refuse to interpret “not yet” as “never.”

And the funny thing is…

I didn’t even start this business because I loved making pap. 😂

I actually grew up disliking pap making because of the unpleasant smell I associated with fermented pap and the environments where I saw it being made.

I didn’t even like buying pap outside.

But after I finished school and found myself sitting idle, I started searching for something productive to do.

That was how I stumbled upon someone selling pap and other food products online.

And I thought…

“Maybe I can do this too.”

I started.

Then I took an enhancement class because I didn’t want to make just ordinary pap.

I wanted to change the narrative.

I wanted to show that pap could be made differently.

That it could be clean.

That it could be thoughtfully enhanced.

That even fresh pap doesn’t have to come with that unpleasant smell people have learned to associate with it.

And somewhere along the line…

the thing I never wanted to do became the thing I now believe can change my life.

So yes, the market may be crowded.

Yes, building a brand is hard.

Yes, sometimes the sales are painfully slow.

But I am still here.

Still learning.

Still creating.

Still showing up.

Still looking for better ways to tell you about what I make.

Because I believe this brand can grow.

And I want to succeed the right way.

With God by my side.

With integrity.

With quality.

With knowledge.

With a community that trusts me.

And with the courage to keep going even when the results are not yet where I want them to be.

So if you’ve ever wondered why I keep showing up…

This is why. ❤️

I’m not giving up on D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS.

Not yet. Not now.

We’re still building. 🌾🤎

And we are still serving clean yumminess 👌

🌴❤️ FROM MY MOTHER’S HANDS TO YOUR KITCHEN.

My mum has been selling palm oil for a while, but mostly offline.

And honestly, I have watched her be very intentional about the quality of the oil she sells.

This isn’t just another bottle of red oil.

It is rich, naturally coloured palm oil, sourced with the intention of giving you that beautiful, authentic palm-oil taste we know and love. 🌴❤️

The kind that reminds you of home.

The kind that brings that deep colour and aroma to your soups, stews and traditional dishes. 😋

And now…

Mummy’s palm oil is coming ONLINE! 🎉💃🏽

So if you’ve been looking for good-quality palm oil for your kitchen, keep your eyes here.

We’ll be sharing more about it very soon — including how to order. ❤️

Good food starts with good ingredients. 🌴

And this one?

Na mama get am. 😂❤️

22/08/2026

🌴 LET’S TEST THIS PALM OIL! 👀

I came across a video showing a simple way to check whether palm oil may contain added colouring/dye, and immediately I thought…

“Wait o… let me bring my mama’s own!” 😂

So I brought out the palm oil my mum sells and tried the same experiment demonstrated in the video.

And guess what? 👀

Her palm oil passed the test! ❤️🌴

Now, this isn’t me saying that one home experiment can replace proper laboratory testing or certification. But it was definitely exciting to see how the oil responded to the test. 🥹

And honestly, it reminded me of something I value deeply when it comes to food:

Know what you’re eating.
Ask questions.
Pay attention to quality.

Because when it comes to food, what goes into the pot matters. ❤️

Watch the video and tell me…

Would you try this experiment on the palm oil in your kitchen? 👀👇🏽

I HAD THE VISION BEFORE I HAD THE RESOURCES 🌾❤️

There was a time I had the vision… but I didn’t have everything I needed to bring that vision to life.

I knew the kind of food brand I wanted to build.

I knew the standard I wanted.

I knew I didn’t want to just make pap and sell it.

But knowing what you want and having the resources to make it happen are two completely different things.

There were days I had to improvise.

Days I had to learn things I never thought I would need to learn.

Days I looked at how far I still had to go and wondered, “How am I going to get there?”

But somehow, I kept moving.

Not because I had everything figured out.

Not because I had all the money I needed.

But because I couldn’t shake the conviction that there was something bigger I was building.

And today, I’m beginning to understand something…

Sometimes God gives you the vision before He gives you the resources. 🥹

The vision comes first.

Then comes the process of becoming the person who can carry it.

So I’m learning.

I’m building.

I’m starting with what I have.

And I’m trusting God for what I don’t have yet.

Because I believe this little beginning can become something much bigger than me. ❤️

One day, I want to look back at these little beginnings and say:

“This was where it all started.” 🥹🌾

And I’m not there yet…

But I’m still here.

Still building.

Still believing.

Still showing up.

D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS is only getting started. ❤️

Tomorrow, I’ll tell you about one of the moments that made this journey even harder…

and why I almost gave up. 👀

I DIDN’T WANT TO MAKE JUST ORDINARY PAP. 🌾

When I first decided to start making pap, I could have simply gone with the usual.

Corn pap.

Millet pap.

Guinea corn pap.

And honestly, there would have been nothing wrong with that.

But there was something in me that kept asking:

“What else can I do with this?”

I didn’t want D VINE to be just another place where you buy ordinary pap.

I wanted to explore.

I wanted to learn.

I wanted to understand how different ingredients could be combined thoughtfully to create different experiences.

That was one of the reasons I decided to invest in an enhancement class.

I wanted knowledge.

I wanted to improve my skills.

I wanted to move beyond simply knowing how to make pap to understanding how to create different pap varieties.

And that journey opened my eyes to something:

Sometimes, the difference between an ordinary product and a remarkable one isn’t that the product itself is completely new.

Sometimes, it’s what you are willing to learn, improve and create around it.

That mindset is part of what birthed the “VARIANTS” in D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS. 🌾❤️

Today, I get excited thinking about the different possibilities.

Because I’m not just asking:

“How do I make pap?”

I’m asking:

“How can I make pap better?”

“How can I give people more choices?”

“How can I create something my customers will genuinely enjoy?”

And trust me…

We are only getting started. 👀🌾

There’s still so much I want to learn.

So much I want to create.

And so much more I want D VINE to become.

One idea at a time.

One variant at a time.

One grain at a time. ❤️🌾

THE PAP I GREW UP KNOWING WASN’T THE PAP I WANTED TO MAKE. 🌾

Let me tell you something I don’t think I’ve ever shared properly.

Growing up, I had a particular perception of pap.

For me, pap was always associated with that strong fermented smell.

And because of some of the places where I had seen pap being made or sold, I also grew up believing that pap production could easily become unhygienic.

That perception stayed with me for years.

In fact, it was one of the reasons I didn’t like making pap at home.

I was always careful about where I bought it from, especially when it came to feeding my children.

Then I eventually found myself starting a pap business.

And I remember thinking:

“If I’m going to do this, I want to do it differently.”

I didn’t want to simply make pap because that’s what people were already making.

I wanted to create a process I could personally be proud of.

I wanted cleanliness to matter.

I wanted proper handling to matter.

I wanted the final product to be something I could confidently put in front of my own family.

And yes…

I wanted to prove something to myself.

Pap doesn’t have to be something you tolerate.

Pap can be carefully made.

Pap can come in different varieties.

Pap can be intentionally processed.

Pap can be something you actually look forward to eating. ❤️

That mindset became one of the reasons I invested in learning more about pap production and began experimenting with different variants.

And honestly?

The woman who once couldn’t stand the smell of pap…

is now the woman who can spend hours making it. 😂❤️

Life is funny sometimes.

Sometimes the very thing you once avoided becomes the thing that teaches you what you’re capable of.

And that is another chapter of the D VINE story. 🌾

We’re not just making pap.

We’re building a standard I want to be proud of.

One grain at a time.

11 YEARS AGO… GOD KEPT ME. 😭❤️

Today marks exactly 11 years since one of the darkest seasons of my life.

I was a young student when I began experiencing terrible abdominal pains, extremely painful menstruation, painful urination, and other frightening symptoms.

I was eventually rushed to the hospital and spent three weeks there. I was told that I had a severe urinary tract affecting both kidneys. I was passing stones in my urine, my feet became swollen, and my body went through things I could barely understand.

I was still a student. Examinations were going on, but I was in that hospital fighting for my life.

After I eventually left the hospital, the battle continued for months.

There was one particular night I will NEVER forget.

I suddenly struggled terribly to breathe. I was gasping for air despite being in a well-ventilated room. My siblings were around me praying, and I remember being so terrified that I stayed awake through the night.

I truly thought I might not make it.

But GOD. 😭🙏🏽

Somehow, I made it through that night.

And that was not the end of my story.

ELEVEN YEARS LATER… I AM STILL HERE. 😭😭😭❤️

I have gone on to become a mother of THREE beautiful children. 🥹

I have watched God carry me through seasons I never thought I would survive.

And this year, after all these years, I decided to have my kidneys checked again.

The doctor looked at my results and told me my kidneys looked very healthy and active.

Bestie… I could only cry. 😭😭😭

Because I remembered the girl from 11 years ago.

The girl who didn’t know if she would survive.

The girl whose future was uncertain.

And now…

LOOK AT ME. 😭❤️

I AM STILL HERE.

I AM A MOTHER.

I AM BUILDING.

I AM DREAMING.

I AM LIVING.

And I am completely overwhelmed by the goodness of my Heavenly Father. 🥹🙏🏽❤️

I don’t know what you may be going through today, but I want to remind you of something:

Your current chapter is NOT necessarily the end of your story.

Sometimes all you can do is hold on.

Sometimes all you can do is pray.

Sometimes all you can do is survive one day at a time.

But keep going.

Because God is still writing. ❤️

Today, I am not asking God for anything.

I just want to say:

THANK YOU, DADDY. 😭😭😭🙏🏽

Thank You for keeping me.

Thank You for giving me another morning.

Thank You for my children.

Thank You for my life.

Thank You for every battle You brought me through.

Thank You for loving me when I didn’t even understand what was happening.

I AM LIVING PROOF THAT I HAVE A HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVES ME. 🥹❤️

11 years later…

I AM STILL HERE.

And I will keep declaring the goodness of the Lord. 🙏🏽❤️

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” — Psalm 118:17

Happy 11th anniversary of being KEPT by God. 😭❤️🙏🏽

I REFUSED TO STAY IDLE.

There was a period in my life when I had finished school, had my children, and found myself with a lot of time on my hands.

No big office.

No fancy job.

No clear idea of what the next chapter was going to look like.

And honestly, that season could have easily made me feel stuck.

But there was one thing I couldn’t accept:

Sitting idle and watching my potential waste away.

I kept asking myself:

“What can I do?”

“What can I learn?”

“What can I start with what I already have?”

So I started searching.

Facebook became one of the places I looked. I watched people building businesses from their homes. I looked at products. I studied ideas.

And then I stumbled across a woman selling pap and other food products.

I saw the grains she posted and something clicked.

“Maybe I can do this too.”

And that little thought became the beginning of D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS. 🌾

But here’s the part I want someone reading this to remember:

You don’t always need to have everything figured out before you start.

Sometimes you just need to be willing to start somewhere.

Start small.

Learn.

Improve.

Try again.

And keep moving.

That’s what D VINE represents to me.

A reminder that where you are today doesn’t have to be where you remain tomorrow.

I started because I wanted to be productive.

But somewhere along the way, I discovered something much bigger to build.

And I’m still building. ❤️🌾

One idea.

One lesson.

One customer.

One grain at a time.

If you’re currently in a season where you’re trying to figure things out, don’t give up on yourself. Your beginning may look small, but it doesn’t mean your destination will be.

I DIDN’T EVEN LIKE MAKING PAP. 😭

Yes, you read that right. 😂

I started D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS even though making pap was never something I imagined myself doing.

Growing up, I had this perception that pap-making came with a certain smell. That fermented water smell was something I absolutely hated. And honestly, some of the places where I had seen pap being made didn’t exactly help that perception.

So I avoided making pap at home.

I even avoided giving my children pap unless I could confidently vouch for where it came from.

Then life happened.

I finished school, had my children, and suddenly found myself with a lot of time on my hands.

And I didn’t like it.

I have always believed that sitting idle when you have the strength and ability to do something is a waste of potential.

So I started searching.

I searched Facebook. I searched the internet. I looked at different businesses and different possibilities.

Then one day, I saw a woman selling pap and other food products.

Something about the grains she posted caught my attention.

And I thought…

“Maybe I can do this too.”

That little thought eventually became D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS. 🌾

But something else happened along the way.

I didn’t just want to make ordinary pap.

I wanted to learn how to make pap differently.

I wanted to explore varieties.

I wanted to enhance it.

And most importantly, I wanted to challenge that old belief I had grown up with—that pap had to smell unpleasant or that making pap couldn’t be clean and intentional.

Today, I can honestly say something I never imagined I’d say:

I LOVE MAKING PAP. ❤️

The very thing I once avoided has become something I’m passionate about building.

And this is only the beginning.

Because D VINE isn’t just about selling pap to me.

It’s about showing you what can happen when you refuse to remain idle, decide to learn, and dare to build something from where you are.

Welcome to my journey. 🌾❤️

I am Divine, the woman behind D VINE FOODS & VARIANTS.

And I’m building this one grain at a time. 🌾
