🚚 DELIVERY REPORT 🇳🇬

🌐 SHADIS CHANNEL

SHADIS’ client successfully received his 10,000 pieces of Pure Dutch Clarias Fingerlings in Kaduna this morning (08-05-26), after slightly over 24 hours of road transit 🛣️.

Considering the possibility of bad roads and traffic hold-ups that could delay the journey, we ensured proper pre-delivery treatment for the fish 🐟. We used three 50-liter kegs for better spacing and made sure the water was changed after 12 hours of transportation.

Fresh salt and palm oil were also added to help stabilize the water 💦, prevent foaming, and reduce stress on the fish 🐠.

The fish 🐟 remained inside the kegs for an additional 8 hours because the driver arrived in Kaduna around 1:00 AM, and our client could not pick them up at that time. However, we were confident they would remain absolutely fine 🤗.

Fish delivery 🚚 in Nigeria 🇳🇬 can be quite risky and cumbersome, especially over long distances, due to poor road conditions and, at times, drivers’ handling.

Nevertheless, we continue mastering the logistics dynamics and learning how to overcome the challenges involved, all in order to better serve our clients.

Although these fish 🐟 could have been transported in two 50-liter kegs, we deliberately used three kegs to prepare for unforeseen circumstances.

At SHADIS, we do not operate based on assumptions. Rather, we prepare with the understanding that a one-day journey could unexpectedly become a two-day journey because we do not know what the road may hold.

Our happy 😊 client reported a mortality of only 30 pieces. In addition, we included 1,200 extra fingerlings above the purchased 10,000 pieces.

Therefore, a total of 11,200 fingerlings 🐟 were delivered, while 11,170 arrived vibrant and healthy after 32 hours in kegs before they were picked up in the park in Kaduna.

Our client temporarily placed the fish in a tarpaulin pond for prophylactic treatment and stress recovery before transferring them to their main stocking facility, a fish farm with the capacity to accommodate several thousands more.
