Tikifish Farm and smokehouse Catfish grow out farm with traditional smoke houses

3,123kg of catfish processed today, but here’s the shocker:The Clarías gariepinus gave us over ₦639,000 worth of waste from just 1,047kg! That’s 18% waste – mostly intestines and fish eggs with very low resale value.Meanwhile, the Hybrid (Heteroclarias) gave us only 3.4% waste from 2,076kg – more meat, less loss, and better value for smoking.🔍 This is why, as a fish processor who smokes and sells fish, I never buy Clarias gariepinus. It’s too wasteful, less rugged, and less profitable after drying.➡️ Lesson for farmers: If you’re raising catfish for processors like me, go for the Hybrid (Heteroclarias).✔️ Less waste✔️ Better yield✔️ Disease resistant✔️ Stronger flesh✔️ Higher ROIInstead of crying over waste, I’m repurposing it — using all the intestines to feed our Vundu Catfish (Heterobranchus longifilis) in the dam. Nothing is wasted.🎯 This is how to think smart and farm smart. Fish farming is business — and numbers don’t lie!

📣 Special delivery from the creek! Here at Tiki Fish Farm & Smokehouse, we just received 6,500+ native African catfish (Clarias batrachus), locally known as Eja Aro / Ebewari. In 2–3 days, these delicious, long-lasting fish will be ready for you — dry, tasty, and preservable.⚠️ Important: We do not use personal bank accounts. Our only official account is Tiki Fish Enterprises (First Bank). Our only business WhatsApp number is 0816-818-2484.Don’t fall victim to scammers using our old videos to deceive people. Today on the farm, I’m starting a new experiment with our native Nigerian catfish – the ones we used to find big in the wild but are now disappearing. These are called Clarias batrachus (Eja Aro in Yoruba, evewarie in Benin), and I bought 1,500 pieces straight from the creek. They’re small now, but some of these could already be 5–6 months old. So the question is — can they grow big again in captivity? I’m putting them in a pond with my tilapia to observe them for the next 8 months. I’ll be feeding them with catfish intestines and monitoring their growth closely. This fish is one of the sweetest native catfish in Nigeria, and I believe it deserves preservation. If this works, we might be looking at a way to reintroduce this species into structured aquaculture.Follow this journey and let’s see how these wild survivors perform in a farm setting!

Meet the young Minister of Dodo Affairs! 🍌🔥
My boy loves fried plantain (dodo) so much, he didn’t wait — went straight to the farm and harvested two full bunches by himself!
No be trade, na dodo mission! 😂
Because once these plantains ripen, frying go start immediately!

This holiday, I’m not just keeping my boys busy — I’m preparing them for life.Kebi and Tari are just 10 and 8, but they’re already feeding thousands of catfish, learning the value of hard work, and having fun while at it.On Tikifish Farm, we don’t just raise fish — we raise men. This is what intentional fatherhood looks like.Let them play, let them learn, let them grow.Because boys who work today… become men who lead tomorrow.Wish us luck!

Fish farming is not a poor man’s business.

Today alone, I’ve spent over ₦500,000 just to lay water pipes — 10 pieces of 6-inch pipes, 2 pieces of 12-inch pipes, plus elbows and tees — all so I can get freshwater flowing into one of my pond lines.

I’m standing beside the vent pipe we buried to allow free flow of water into 5 ponds with a combined capacity of 25 tons of catfish.

This is not luxury — it’s strategic investment. Once it’s done, I won’t need to rely on a gasoline pump again to move water. This is a one-time cost for long-term savings.

And I haven’t even mentioned the cost of workmanship — the boys digging the trenches are not doing charity work.

So when next you say fish farming is for the poor, think again.

Two years ago, my boys Kebi and Tari were just small boys following me around the fish ponds. Today, they’re growing into hardworking young men with real-life experience. That’s the power of being present on the farm — you don’t just learn; you become.Raising men, not boys. 💪🏽

After much hesitation…
I’ve finally decided to put a signpost at the junction leading to my farm.

For a long time, I avoided it — not because I didn’t want people to know the location,
but because I didn’t want my farm to turn into a tourist center.

But at this point, I believe serious buyers and partners deserve a clearer direction.
Tikifish Farm & Smokehouse is open for business — not sightseeing.

Please come for business, not for tours.

🔥 Good Fish Starts with Good Firewood!Ever since I got my Tokunboh Benz truck, I’ve been hitting the road—sawmills, villages, deep bush—just to source the best quality hardwood for fish smoking.Rainy season makes it tough, but nothing good comes easy.Look at that rich golden brown color? That’s not a filter. That’s real smoke, real firewood, and real dedication.Forget gas and electric ovens—nothing beats the traditional way.The fish? Smells great. Tastes even better.
