HRM, Igwe Engr Simon E Obidike Mnse, before his coronation as Eze Ezu,ll of Ikem ivite community, he served as Nando President General from to 2001 to 08"
He worked with then Eze odi ebeva *Igwe Ekwemalor Aghaeze* then as Nando PG before he came into office Nando was divided with several fractions, Ekwolo and Envy left a deep wounds on flesh of Nando. He worked to established peace in Nando
We were being ridiculed as one of poorest communities within Omambala region despite the efforts of our forefathers who made sure Nando is well represented in the social life of that era
First, a popular musician mocked Nando and said *"" Nando nweli Eze ma Eze va ji ogba eje ive ikpo"*
Another memorable challenge was Electricity, then Nando was in Total darkness , surrounding communities around Nando embraced electricity before Nando was eventually commission by His Excellency.
Came into office as PG, Engr Simon Edozie Obidike _Oke Mmili Na Nando_ into office as president general Generously bought a car for the _Igwe Eze odi ebeva_ to end the long standing mockery contained in the music of late Chief Onwuluzike Udemgba
Engr Obidike fast forwarded the long awaited NANDO electrification, by 1999 we saw the 11kva silver cable beneath the 33kva being tensioned across all the villages in Nando,
Engr Obidike _Mnse_came in and work along Engr Mike an inlaw to Akamator Nando who was in charge of equipment store in Benin Electricity Station. Engr Mike Ensured that the PG application for Transformers was approved.
The President of Nigerian Chief Olusegun Obasanjo approved Rural areas electrification project, 3 communities was approved in each geo-political zones in Nigeria.
Engr Obidike as PG Nando worked tirelessly to ensure Nando benefited from the 3 allocated communities in South East zone. Eventually, Engr Simon Obidike Mnse, a traditional Monarch in Ikem ivite community, Nando secured 8 transformers to Nando, each of which was installed in different locations in Nando.
On 15th February, 2002, Igwe Engr Obidike Mnse polled the presidency to commission the Electricity, the Former President of federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Grand- Commander- in _chief of Arms Forces invited to commission the project, He visited Nando for the first time in glorious views of our people, welcoming a sitting President then, it was a great experience.
Igwe Eze Ezu ll remains part of our history as he left so many unmatchable records as PG Nando.
Today, he extends His Warm Invitations to you to Honour the upcoming Ikem Ivite Royal Kingdom ""IWA Ji Oruru festival Celebration"" on August 15th 2026.
