STRAWBERRY JAM
INGREDIENTS
● Strawberries
● Chiaseeds or flax seeds
● Honey but for Children under 1, use date syrup to sweeten. (OPTIONAL).
NOTE: Some Strawberries that are left to get ripe before it is harvested are very sweet and may
not need other sweeteners.
If your jam gets too sweet after preparation, you can add a squeeze of lemon or Apple cider
vinegar to tone down the sweetness.
PREPARATION
● Place your saucepan on fire
● Pour in 2 cups of Strawberries
● Use a potato masher to press the Strawberries a bit to bring out the juice or you can usea knife to cut the Strawberries into pieces.
● Allow the mashed Strawberries to boil until very soft( keep stirring while it's boiling and atthe same time mash it to blend well.
● Once you mash and you find out that the chunks of the Strawberries are giving wayeasily, then you know its ready
● Switch off your fire
● Add a little bit of honey for the extra sweetness , 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds and stir everything together.
● Cover and leave the Chia seeds to soften, after a while the Chia seeds will make your
strawberry jam to thicken.
● You can use your hand blender to blend the mixture into a smoother paste or allow it to cool and blend with blender
Pour into a glass jar and store in your refrigerator
