*ALL BROILERS ARE NOT THE SAME OHH, ONE IS MORE SUITABLE TO SELL AT 4 WEEKS, ONE IS STRONGER AGAINST COLD, ONE IS STRONGER AGAINST HEAT AND ONE GROWS TALLER THAN OTHERS.*

THERE ARE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT JUST BUY ANY BROILERS BREED BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE BUYING IT. PEOPLE BUY BROILERS BASED ON DIFFERENT REASONS. SOME BUY BIRDS THAT GROWS FASTER AND SELL THEM OFF FOR 4WEEKS, SOME BUY OTHER TYPE OF BROILER BREED BECAUSE THEY GROW TALLER AND ARE EASIER TO SELL OFF. SOME BUY BROILERS BASED ON THE TYPE OF TEMPERATURE AND WEATHER CONDITIONS BECAUSE THERE ARE BROILERS THAT ARE STRONGER AGAINST COLD AND SOME ARE STRONGER AGAINST HEAT.

Am going to be talking about the 4 best types of broiler breed we have in Nigeria and the hatchery that produces them. and the advantages they have over themselves and you get to know which you should go for when you are ready to start poultry farming.

The 4 best Broilers are
1)ROSS 308.
2)COBB 500
3)ARBOR ACRE
4)MARSHALL.

1)ROSS 308.
The Ross 308 that grow that tall, are always short but very fat, they can withstand cold but they hate heat. they Ross 308 grows faster than other broilers breed. They have a good conversion ratio and are more suitable to be raised for 4-6weeks and then sell them off. they can weigh up to 2.5 at 5WEEKS of age. The hatcheries that produce them include SAYED AND AGRITED HATCHERY.

2)COBB 500.
Not as fast-growing as the Ross 308, but they grow taller then Ross 308. They can’t withstand cold and often sneeze and contact CRD easily even when they are still a day old. They are also strongly resistant to heat more than Ross 308. And are more agile and resistant to diseases.
Hatcheries that produce COBB 500 include ZARTECH, OLAM, CASCADA, AND NPG.

3)ARBOR ACRE.
They are more similar to Ross 308 and also can weigh up to 2.7 At 6 weeks of age, they have an average daily weight gain of 93 g and an average daily weight gain of 79 g at 8 weeks of age under good conditions. They are also more resistant to diseases Hatcheries that produce ARBOR ACRE ARE AMO, CHI, FIDAN DESTINY AGRO, VARTEX, SUPPREM AND MANY MORE.

4)MARSHALL
The only disadvantage is that Marshall doesn’t grow up fast like the other breeds do but they are the broilers that grow the tallest among their broilers breed. And they are more required during the celebration period because of their physical appearance. They can stay up to 12 weeks before you start marketing them.

YOU ARE USING THE WRONG DRUGS AND THATS WHY THE BIRDS ARE ALWAYS SICK OR DYING, READ THIS ARTICLE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW TO KNOW THE RIGHT DRUGS TO USE FOR YOUR BIRDS.

The work of your vet or consultant is to prescribe drugs for you to buy, But some vet may explain to you the works of the drugs they gave you and its contents so that you can be able to know the right drugs to buy next time just incase you don't have a vet around. I think its better for farmers to have idea of what they are buying so as not to buy the wrong medication that is used for another purpose different from the purpose they bought it for.

And am very sure this has made so many farmers to buy and get wrong drugs to treat different diseases which won't work for their birds simply because they couldn't recognise the right medication to buy to treat their birds. And this has caused many farmers to have mortalities and lose a lot of their birds because they didn't use the right drugs on time or because they got the wrong drugs.

HOW TO KNOW THE RIGHT DRUGS.
1) Antibiotics.
If you are looking for a good Antibiotics get an Antibiotics that contain Gentamycin(Examples of drugs with Gentamycin are Doxygen and Gentylo). Or you can get mild Antibiotics that contain Amoxycillin or Colistin ( Examples of this drugs is Amoxyl col).
You can also get antibiotics that contain tetracycline or ERYTHROMYCIN (Drugs that contain erythromycin includes Coryl sp which is very effective against crd and coryza.)

2)Drugs To Treat C.R.D,COUGH,SNEEZING AND COLD, coryza.
All the diseases mentioned above are respiratory diseases and its best to use drugs that contains Gentamycin or Tylosin or doxycycline to cure or prevent it.
Examples of drugs with Gentamycin are Doxygen and Gentylo.

And example of drugs that contains Tylosin which is very effective against CRD,cough and sneezing are drugs like Tylodox, Centre-Tydox, Tylodox Extra and Gentylo.

3)Drugs To Treat Coccidiosis
Coccidiosis is a Gastro intestinal disease, And that is why its symptoms is always noticed in the poops because it attacks the digestive system of the birds. Coccidiosis always make birds drop yellowish or bloody poops.

To prevent or treat coccidiosis get drugs that contain TOTRAZURIL(examples of drugs that contain TOTRAZURIL is Kepcox)
Or you can also get drugs that contain SULFAQUINOXALINE SODIUM Or drugs that contains AMPROLIUM. Examples of this drugs are Amprocox, Coccifor, Vitacox, Embazin Forte.
