WHY YOUR ANIMALS NEED A WELL-SPACED PEN
A crowded pen is not a sign of a productive farm.
When animals are packed together with little room to move, eat, rest and access water comfortably, you are creating the perfect environment for stress, injuries and disease to spread.
A well-spaced pen gives your animals enough room to:
• Move around freely without constantly stepping on or pushing one another.
• Eat and drink properly without excessive competition at the feed trough or water point.
• Rest comfortably, which is important for healthy growth and productivity.
• Reduce fighting, bullying and injuries caused by overcrowding.
• Maintain better hygiene because manure and urine can be managed more effectively.
• Improve ventilation and reduce the buildup of heat, moisture and harmful gases.
• Make it easier for the farmer to observe each animal and quickly identify one that is sick, weak or behaving abnormally.
