Recipe for Red Velvet Puff-puff
π₯£ Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp instant yeast
1 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 tsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
1 cup lukewarm water (add little by little, batter should be thick but stretchy)
Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

1. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, cocoa powder, and salt.
2. Add wet ingredients: Stir in water gradually, add vanilla, and food coloring. Mix until smooth, stretchy, and lump-free. The batter should not be runny.
3. Rest: Cover with a clean cloth and leave to rise for about 45 minutes β 1 hour, until doubled in size.
4. Heat oil: In a deep pot, heat enough oil on medium heat (not too hot or puffs will brown quickly but stay raw inside).
5. Scoop and fry: Use your hand or spoon to scoop small portions of the batter into the oil. Fry in batches, turning them until golden brown/red all over.
6. Drain: Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
