Nigeria is the world largest cassava producer, with an annual production of over 75 million tons.
In 2021, global cassava production was estimated at 308 million tonnes, with Africa producing about 208 million tonnes which is (about 68% of world production).
Cassava in Nigeria is cultivated on an estimated 2.5 million hectares both in small and large scales.
cassava is planted in about 26 state out of 36 states in Nigeria with over 35 different varieties. 80% of cassava produced in Nigeria is been processed for food for humans consumption while 20 of it goes for industrial use and animals consumption. unlike before where cassava is only known for Garri, fufu and elubo production, it have gotten different innovations where is been processed into flour, ethanol, pellet, flacks, spaghetti and many more.

Cocoa production is one of the tree crops that help southern part of Nigeria in the 60's, is best known as Tree money (igi Owo) in South Western Nigeria where the money generated by the Government from cocoa seed is been used to built Cocoa House in Ibadan, First television station in West African also in Ibadan Nigeria and many more that we can see till date. Aftermany years, cocao lost it value through industrialization that change the minds of the producers of this magic stick to go for City money in the city, most farmers send their children to the city to make more money while magic stick was abandoned and left rotten in the bush for over 40 decades which made cocoa to lost her value in Nigeria. but now with so much demand for chocolate in the world, Nigeria Cocoa farmers have started smiling to the bank with what (Igi Owo) as turn them too. 1kg of cocoa seed is around #13,000 to #15,000.
Truely, Cocoa is reall Magic Tree.
