They are calling for a fair and just system that allows every local government to have a chance to participate in the National Assembly, thereby promoting balanced development and inclusive governance.

Group Dismisses Forgery Allegation, Affirms Legitimacy of Ajani’s Victory in Edu/Moro/Patigi APC Primary

A group operating under the aegis of Concerned Party Members of Moro Local Government has strongly dismissed allegations of forgery linked to the recently conducted All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, describing the claims as legally untenable, politically motivated, and a clear afterthought arising from dissatisfaction with the outcome of the exercise.

In a statement issued on Monday and made available to journalists, the group maintained that the primary election which produced Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua as the APC candidate was conducted in substantial compliance with the party’s guidelines and democratic procedures, with the exercise witnessed by party officials, accredited agents, stakeholders, security operatives, and observers across the constituency.

The group noted that the allegation of forgery being circulated lacks credibility and raises serious questions as to dispute a process participated and endorsed at the point of collation.

According to the statement, “The result sheet in question was duly signed by multiple party agents as well as the returning officers who supervised the exercise and no allegations of any form of manipulation. It is therefore ,the name Babatunde Johnson as mentioned is not from Jebba nor Jebba ward acting after the conclusion of the process and following the declaration of results, allegations of forgery were raised by one of our Leader Mr Babatunde Femi Johnson as result of misleading calls from different areas to soil his name which he need to react by clear HIS name from public.

The group further argued that under established democratic principles and electoral practice, allegations of forgery or procedural impropriety must be substantiated with verifiable facts rather than speculative claims driven by political disappointment.

Mere media sensationalism, emotional outbursts, or post-election grievances cannot invalidate a process that was openly conducted in the presence of relevant stakeholders and widely acknowledged by party members across the constituency,” the statement added.

The concerned APC members insisted that Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua secured a clear and overwhelming victory based on the aggregate votes recorded across Edu, Moro, and Patigi Local Government Areas, reflecting the genuine mandate and preference of party members at the grassroots.

The group described attempts to undermine the credibility of the primary election through petitions and public accusations is on call for .

They further cautioned against actions capable of bringing the party into disrepute or creating avoidable divisions ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging all aspirants and their supporters to place the collective interest of the MORO LGA and APC above personal discussion.

“Democracy naturally produces winners and losers. Political maturity demands that participants respect the outcome of a transparent process rather than resort to baseless allegations capable of heating up the polity and weakening party cohesion,” the statement said.

The group also appealed to the leadership of the APC at both the state and national levels to remain resolute in defending the integrity of the democratic process and to resist any attempt to subvert the freely expressed will of party members through pressure, misinformation, or political intimidation.

“Now more than ever, the party requires unity, discipline, and respect for internal democratic mechanisms. The mandate overwhelmingly given to Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua by party members should be protected and respected in the overall interest of justice, fairness, and party stability,” the statement concluded.

AAJ Intensifies Grassroots Mobilisation in Moro LGA, Secures Broad Support Across Eji/Lanwa Constituency Ahead of APC Primaries

Moro LGA, Kwara State – May 11, 2026

Ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua, popularly known as AAJ, on Monday intensified his grassroots consultation drive with a strategic visit to the Eji/Lanwa Constituency in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The consultation tour, which forms part of his sustained engagement with party stakeholders and constituents, witnessed large turnouts across key wards within the constituency. Eji/Lanwa, which comprises seven wards including Jebba, Baba Dudu, Eji, Okutala, Okemi, and Lanwa, served as a focal point for the day’s political activities.

Dr. Ajani commenced the tour in Jebba Ward, where he held an extensive interactive session with artisan groups and local stakeholders. During the engagement, he emphasized the importance of active political participation and urged residents to turn out en masse during the APC primary election scheduled for Friday. He reiterated his commitment to people-oriented representation, noting that his ambition is driven by a desire to consolidate grassroots development and inclusive governance.

The consultation train subsequently moved to meet with the APC ward executives, party members, and loyalists in Jebba. In their responses, party stakeholders expressed strong confidence in AAJ’s candidacy, citing his longstanding contributions to community development even before seeking public office. They assured him of overwhelming support at the primaries, describing the moment as an opportunity to reciprocate his goodwill and developmental efforts.

Continuing the tour, AAJ and his entourage proceeded to Bode Saadu, where a coalition of three wards gathered in a show of unity and solidarity. The gathering drew party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, and women, all of whom pledged their unwavering support for his candidacy. Speakers at the event emphasized the need for Moro Local Government to take a central role in the political leadership of the federal constituency, declaring that the time had come for the area to assert its influence.

A major highlight of the visit to Bode Saadu was the courtesy call on traditional institutions, including the palaces of the Baale of Bode Saadu and the Daodu. The royal fathers warmly received Dr. Ajani and his delegation, offering prayers and royal blessings for his political aspirations. They described him as a worthy son of the soil with the capacity to champion the interests of the Moro people and address longstanding developmental challenges.

The day’s activities concluded at Oloko Nla village, where representatives from four additional wards assembled to receive AAJ and his team. The atmosphere was marked by enthusiasm and reaffirmation of support, as community members reiterated their readiness to mobilize voters in his favour during the primaries.

Throughout the tour, Dr. Ajani Abiola Joshua maintained a consistent message of unity, inclusive representation, and sustainable development. His engagements reflected a strategic effort to consolidate support across the wards while strengthening ties with critical stakeholders ahead of the decisive APC primary election.

Political observers note that the increasing momentum behind AAJ’s consultation tour signals a growing acceptance of his candidacy within the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, positioning him as a formidable contender in the upcoming party primaries.
