Our First Broiler Batch Update!

Today marks 3 weeks since we welcomed our first batch of broilers to Juvera Farms Limited, and we're grateful for how far we've come.

So far, we've recorded just one mortality, and we give God all the glory. The photo below was taken when the birds were 18 days old.

As part of our vaccination schedule, they received their first Gumboro vaccine on Day 7, followed by a booster on Day 14. Today, they also received their first LaSota vaccine, and we look forward to administering the booster dose on Day 28.

Every batch teaches us something new, and we're committed to applying those lessons to raise healthier birds and build a stronger farm. Growth may be gradual, but every small step counts.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, supported, and shared valuable advice along the way. Your support means a lot to us.

The journey has only just begun, and we look forward to sharing many more milestones with you.

The construction of the Juvera Farms Limited chicken coop is progressing steadily, and we're excited with the pace of work. Every stage brings us closer to providing a safe, comfortable, and efficient housing system for our birds.

We're laying a solid foundation for sustainable poultry production, and we can't wait to share the finished project with you. Thank you for following our journey and supporting our vision. Bigger things are on the way!

At Juvera Farms Limited, work is steadily progressing on our 50ft by 10ft chicken coop. This facility is being designed with a dedicated brooding room, while the larger section will serve as a deep litter housing system for our birds.

Along the way, we discovered that the initial estimate for the roofing timber was inaccurate. We've already exceeded the carpenter's quoted quantity of planks, yet we still need an additional 40 pieces of 2×2 planks to complete the roofing framework and netting. Every stage of the project brings new lessons, and we're committed to seeing it through to completion.

Day 25, and our Noiler birds are making steady progress!

They're growing stronger every day, with good body frame, active movement, and healthy appetite. Every stage reminds us that consistency in feeding, proper management, and good care always pay off.

We're grateful for the journey so far and look forward to even better results in the weeks ahead.

You'll recall that we posted about the partitioning of our goat pen into three sections some time ago with a view to converting one of them into a semi-intensive chicken coop.

We're pleased to share that the conversion has now been completed. The section has been properly enclosed and prepared to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-ventilated environment for our birds. This marks another modest but important step in our commitment to building a sustainable and efficient farming system.

With the coop now ready, our birds can enjoy the benefits of a semi-intensive system: adequate shelter, access to outdoor space, and better overall management. We look forward to putting the facility to good use and sharing more updates from the farm in the coming weeks.

Every improvement, no matter how small, brings us closer to our vision for Juvera Farms.

THE JUVERA FARMS NOILER CHICKS EXPERIENCE – DAY 20

To the glory of God, our Noiler chicks are 20 days old today. We are grateful for the steady growth and encouraging progress recorded so far.

The birds are active, feeding well, and developing nicely. While the journey has come with its usual challenges, we remain focused on providing the care and management needed to ensure healthy growth.

Interestingly, we have observed that one of the birds remains noticeably smaller than the rest of the flock. It was the smallest chick from day one and, despite being healthy and active, still lags behind its mates in size. Our guess is that it may turn out to be a cockerel, but only time will tell.

We appreciate everyone who has supported, encouraged, and followed our progress. By God's grace, we look forward to even greater milestones in the days ahead.

To the glory of God, the Noiler chicks at Juvera Farms Limited are 13 days old today.

Based on our daily observations and overall assessment, the birds are doing exceptionally well and demonstrating encouraging growth rates. We remain grateful for the progress recorded so far.

As previously reported, we experienced a mortality on the first day. Subsequently, two mortalities were recorded on the fourth day and one on the sixth day, bringing the total mortality to four birds. While losing any bird is never pleasant, the experience has provided valuable lessons that will strengthen our management practices and improve future outcomes.

In terms of brooding, we have utilized half a bag of charcoal to maintain the required temperature and ensure the comfort of the chicks. We are also diligently following the recommended vaccination schedule to safeguard the health and productivity of the flock.

At Juvera Farms Limited, we remain committed to adopting best poultry management practices and giving these birds the care they need to reach their full potential. We are encouraged by their rapid growth and look forward to sharing more positive updates in the days ahead.

We thank God for His faithfulness and appreciate everyone who continues to support and follow our journey.

Celebrating our 8th year on Facebook. Thank you for your continuing support. We could never have made it without you. 🙏🤗🎉

Today marks Day 3 for our Noiler chicks at Juvera Farms Limited.

We recorded one mortality on the day the chicks arrived. Sadly, the chick was already lifeless when we opened the transport box. We suspect the loss was due to the stress of the long journey from Ibadan to Ilorin.

On a positive note, we have recorded zero mortality in the last 72 hours. The chicks are active, feeding well, and adapting nicely to their new environment.

As part of our brooding management, we use brooding paper and replace it daily to maintain a clean and healthy space for the birds. Since this is our first experience raising Noilers, we are committed to giving them the best care possible and learning every step of the way.

We appreciate everyone following our journey and encouraging us along the way. We will continue to keep you updated as the chicks grow and as new experiences unfold.

Thank you for being part of the Juvera Farms Limited story.
