Commissioning of Electricity Transformer in Akurba, Lafia – 4th April

Today, 4th April, the retired Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu (Rtd), Walin Lafia, NPM, mni, CFR, officially commissioned a new electricity transformer in Akurba community, Lafia.

The retired IGP visited the community alongside his beloved wife, Hajiya Rukaiya Kwaliya Lafia, where they engaged directly with residents to understand the key challenges affecting the area.

During the interaction, the Chairman of G7 Adongarin Akurba highlighted that the major issue facing the community was the lack of stable electricity, which had significantly affected businesses and economic activities.

In response, the former IGP and his wife assured the community of their commitment to addressing the problem. True to their promise, Hajiya Rukaiya facilitated the provision of a transformer within a week.

Today marks the fulfillment of that promise, as Walin Lafia returned to officially commission the transformer, bringing relief and renewed hope to the people of Akurba...

AKWANGA ZONE DECLARES SOLIDARITY WITH IGP FOR NASARAWA GOVERNORSHIP

The Akwanga Zone has officially held a massive solidarity rally in support of former Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, CFR, MNI, as he accepts to contest for the Governorship of Nasarawa State.

The people of Akwanga Zone strongly rejected zoning politics and declared that they want the freedom to choose their leader based on competence, integrity, and capacity to deliver good governance. They have unanimously declared IGP Mohammed Adamu as their preferred candidate for Governor of Nasarawa State.

Across Akwanga and its surrounding communities, the acceptance of IGP Mohammed Adamu has been overwhelming. Crowds poured into the streets, causing heavy movement along the federal highway as people gathered to show their support. The message was clear: IGP is the hope of Nasarawa State.

The former IGP, popularly known as Walin Lafia, is widely seen as a leader who can bring progress, unity, security, and sustainable development to Nasarawa State. His leadership qualities, experience at the national level, and commitment to justice and accountability have made him the trusted choice of the people.

The Akwanga Zone has therefore stood firm in declaring that IGP Mohammed Adamu is the future Governor of Nasarawa State, and the people are ready to support him fully on this journey toward a better and more united Nasarawa...

Today, Saturday 17th January, the former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammad Adamu Abubakar, Walin Lafia (NPM, MNI, CFR), paid a condolence visit and attended the burial ceremony of late Godiya Akwashiki at the Central Church, Chategra, Lafia. The presence of the former IGP at the burial was a show of sympathy, respect, and solidarity with the bereaved family during this moment of deep sorrow and loss.

He was accompanied by notable personalities, including the Turakin Lafia, Sandaje Tancy Almakura Jebo, alhassan adamu hussine alongside other associates, leaders, and members of the community. Their attendance reflected the strong bond of unity, compassion, and shared responsibility toward one another within Lafia and Nasarawa State at large.

During the burial ceremony, prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed, while words of comfort and encouragement were extended to the family of late Godiya Akwashiki. The former IGP expressed his heartfelt condolences, urging the family to remain strong and to take solace in God, while assuring them of his continuous prayers and support.

The gathering was marked by a calm and solemn atmosphere, as friends, relatives, and well-wishers from different walks of life came together to honor the life and legacy of the deceased. The attendance of respected leaders further demonstrated the value of compassion, humility, and service to humanity, which the former IGP has continued to uphold even after leaving office.

The burial ceremony concluded peacefully, leaving behind a message of unity, faith, and mutual support among the people of Lafia.
