The Weaver of Whispers and the Silent Prayer
PART 3

One day, a great storm swept through Olokun.
The wind tore the roofs from the huts, and the river rose, threatening to wash away the granaries.

Kojo grabbed his spear and ran to the forest, shouting at the wind as if it were an enemy to be conquered.

Musa clutched his bags of gold, weeping as the water soaked his precious silks.

But Ekwu went to the granaries. He did not shout, and he did not weep.

He gathered the young men and began to build a barrier of stone and earth.

He worked with a steady rhythm, his lips moving in a quiet chant of trust.

Zola joined him, passing stones from the riverbank."Are you not afraid?" she asked as the thunder crashed.

"The storm is loud," Ekwu replied, "but the One who made the wind is greater. We do our part, and we trust the rest."

When the sun rose, the village was battered but the food was saved.
Kojo returned from the forest, tired and empty-handed.

Musa’s gold was safe, but his heart was bitter from the loss of his finery.

Zola’s father called the suitors together. "The time has come," he said. "Zola, who will you walk with?"

Zola stepped forward. She did not look at Kojo’s strength or Musa’s wealth. She took Ekwu’s calloused hand.

"I choose the man who hears the prayers of my heart," she said.
"I choose the one who knows that a house is built on stone, but a home is built on the Word of the Creator.

We will weave our lives together, not with threads of gold, but with the silver cords of faith."

The elders nodded, for they saw in Ekwu a strength that did not need a spear, and a wealth that could not be stolen by the rain.

And so, Zola and Ekwu began their journey, teaching the young people of Olokun that the most beautiful relationship is the one where two people look not only at each other, but in the same direction-toward the Light that never fades.

Moral of the Story:True discernment in relationships comes from a quiet heart and a shared foundation of faith.
While the world offers the name of amasks of strength and wealth, the spirit seeks a partner who listens to the silent prayers of the soul and trusts in the Creator’s timing.

The Weaver of Whispers and the Silent Prayer

PART 2

One evening, a stranger arrived in Olokun. He was not a warrior, nor was he a wealthy merchant. He was a simple woodcarver named Ekwu.

He carried only a small bag of tools and a piece of unfinished mahogany.
His clothes were worn, and his hands were calloused.

Kojo mocked him. "What can a carver of wood offer a woman like Zola? Can you fight a leopard with a chisel?"

Musa laughed. "Can you buy her a single bead of coral with your shavings?"Ekwu did not argue. He simply bowed and asked Zola’s father for permission to sit by their fire.

That night, as the village gathered, Ekwu did not tell tales of his own greatness.

Instead, he listened. He listened to the elders speak of the harvest; he listened to the children’s laughter; and most of all, he listened to the silence between Zola’s songs.

The next day, Zola went to her spot beneath the Iroko tree. To her surprise, Ekwu was already there, sitting a respectful distance away.

He was carving the piece of mahogany."What are you making?" Zola asked."I am carving the prayer I heard last night," Ekwu replied without looking up.

Zola frowned. "I said no prayer last night.""The heart speaks even when the tongue is still," Ekwu said softly. "I heard a soul asking for a partner who walks in the light of the Creator, one who values the seed as much as the fruit."Zola felt a strange warmth in her chest.

For the first time, a suitor had not looked at her beauty or her skill at the loom. He had looked at her waiting.

Over the next few weeks, Kojo brought Zola the skins of leopards he had slain.

Musa brought her necklaces of amber. But Ekwu brought her nothing but stories- stories of how the Creator placed the stars in the sky to guide the lost, and how the smallest mustard seed holds the strength of a forest.

He spoke of a relationship not as a prize to be won, but as a garden to be tended with the water of Faith and the sun of Patience.
