Mortality in livestock farming in general is inescapable. In farming we make an inside joke that “ It is an initiation ritual one must undergo in other to call yourself a real farmer “ in other words its BAPTISM.

When this start to happen to an inexperienced farmer, you start to consider many things; some even go as far as blaming it on village people.

To be honest they are actually concur, because as soon as you get yourself to that state of mind, you actually start to live in that reality—as you start to experience situations that will actually confirm your bias.

This video talks about the scientific elements that shapes your perspective and also spirituality.

And the next I will be speaking on ways to manage catfish mortality in-particularly in a way that is regenerative. This approach is sustainable, saves cost, ethical and brings about great benefits to other parts of your farming endeavors.

The stem in plantain acts as a storage and food source for the plant. Many times we try to stay in control by plucking them out for beauty purposes or sometimes too early.

What we should do, rather, is wait for the plantain itself to permit us, and it does this by absorbing every bit of water (nutrient) in its leaves and naturally letting go.

Just like the curiosity of children instead of interfering with what comes naturally to them we should follow their obsession and only cut it off when they actually want to let it go.

Do you like plantain and was this insights helpful?

It's easy to get a land for free to farm in Nigeria! But this 3 mental blocks hindered me from accessing one

1. Relationship : I didn't talk to enough people inquiring from them if they had a vacant space that they don't intend on using soon👨‍👩‍👧

2: Distance & Fear of lack of sales : This was a huge factor for me as I understood this my take me out of my comfort ; How my customers are going to access me was also something to consider 📍

3. Desire : This stands as the most important as it talks about what one is willing to sacrifice to achieve the goal of setting up a farm. 🔥

Do you have any fear that is discouraging you from starting your own farming business?

Stop trying to do it all at once. 🛑🌾
Wanting to expand your farm is great, but timing is everything. If you try to integrate multiple farming ventures too early, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

The Golden Rule: Maximize your output in one area before engaging the next. When you split your focus too soon, you leave serious money on the table.
Pro Tip: When it is time to scale, pair the right ventures together. Look for symbiotic relationships where one venture naturally supports the other. That’s how you boost efficiency and profit! 📈
