Mycoplasmosis (CRD) is a very common respiratory infection in turkeys. 🦃
Here are some of the signs:
• Sneezing
• Coughing
• Swollen eyes
• Difficulty breathing
• Poor growth
It spreads faster in cold, dusty, overcrowded, or poorly ventilated pens.
How do we prevent it?
• Keep pens clean and dry
• Ensure good ventilation
• Avoid stress and overcrowding
Early treatment with appropriate antibiotics helps reduce losses.
Treatment of Mycoplasmosis (CRD) in turkeys depends on early detection. 🦃
Antibiotics commonly used:
• Tylosin
• Doxycycline
• Oxytetracycline
Also:
• Improve ventilation
• Reduce dust and stress
• Keep water clean
• Separate weak birds if possible
Drugs work better when management is also corrected.
