This is me again, telling my long truth.
Let me be clear I am here for the good and well-being of every human being. I am not a tool for any government, and I will not be used to defend or normalize inconsiderate governance.
The fire outbreak this morning in our city has left me completely broken. Reports and images coming out are heartbreaking and what hurts even more is that many of the victims are children. Yes, children. Innocent lives caught in a tragedy they never asked for.
While concerned citizens are grieving, speaking up, and trying to make sense of it all, some political voices are busy posting surface-level updates โthe fire has been handled,โ โintervention has been made.โ But where is the humanity? Where is the urgency? Where is the compassion?
Beyond the statements, what is actually being done for the victims?
From what we can see, many of those affected are from struggling, low-income communities. People who donโt have the luxury of access, influence, or voice. Instead of immediate and visible medical care, support, and proper attention, they are left to face this pain almost alone. And it raises serious questionsโฆ
Who approves the placement of hazardous structures in the middle of residential areas?
Who allows unsafe buildings and business setups to exist right beside peopleโs homes?
Why are shops allowed under high-tension wires? Why are unsafe environments ignored?
Or is it simply because the consequences will never reach those in power?
It is painful to see a system that turns a blind eye to safety, yet finds its voice when it is time to impose taxes and levies on the same struggling people just trying to survive.
A government that prioritizes appearance over the actual well-being of its people is failing its purpose.
There was a time when governance felt different when leadership carried a sense of discipline and responsibility. Many still remember the era of Donald Duke and the standards that were set. Today, it feels like we are watching a slow decline into neglect.
At this point, I am not just speaking I am advocating.
Advocating for empathy.
For human lives to matter beyond headlines and press statements.
Because one day, posterity will ask questions not just about actions, but about silence.
And we will all have to answer.
