TYPES OF OGBONO SEEDS AVAILABLE FOR CULINARY PURPOSES

1. Drawy Ogbono (Sticky or Slimy Type)
Highly prized for its culinary applications due to its thick, stretchy consistency when cooked.
Originates from Nigeria, particularly the South East region.
Ideal for traditional ogbono soup, especially for swallow meals.

2. Non-Drawy Ogbono
Fails to produce the desired drawy texture, possibly due to age, storage, or genetic variety.
Although edible, it is less preferred for making ogbono soup.

3. Wild Ogbono (Bush Mango)
Characterized by its smaller size and stronger flavor and scent.
Highly valued in traditional medicine for its medicinal properties.
Drawiness may vary.

4. Cameroon Ogbono
Typically larger and flatter in shape with a slightly different aroma.
Known to be less drawy than Nigerian varieties.
