10 MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN STARTING RABBIT FARMING

1. poor housing design - ensure your rabbits have well-ventilated, dry, and predator-proof cages. avoid wooden cages that absorb urine and harbor bacteria.
2. overcrowding - give each rabbit enough space to move freely to reduce stress, aggression, and disease spread.
3. feeding the wrong diet - provide a balanced diet of fresh hay, quality pellets, and fresh vegetables. avoid feeding only grains or kitchen scraps.
4. ignoring breeding guidelines - allow enough recovery time between breeding cycles and avoid inbreeding by introducing new breeding stock periodically.
5. lack of disease prevention - implement proper hygiene and vaccination practices. regularly clean cages, provide fresh food and water, and quarantine sick rabbits.
6. poor record-keeping - keep detailed records of breeding dates, health status, and feeding schedules to manage your farm effectively.
7. failing to identify market demand - research the market before starting to ensure you have reliable buyers for your rabbits.
8. using low-quality breeding stock - invest in high-quality breeding stock to ensure healthy and productive rabbits.
9. improper handling - handle rabbits gently to avoid causing them stress or injury.
10. starting with too many rabbits - begin with a small number of rabbits to gain experience before expanding your operations.
