Our girls are an important part of our family as is any animal that walks through SSCEs front door. The girls have names that reflect their individual personalities. Same name, same chickens. In addition to our chickens, we have a sweet Kelpie named Sugar, who is the inspiration for our page. Also a very dashing Staffy named Boo. Both have lived full time protecting the girls. We must not forget

our senior bachelor cockatiel, Ali and the ever talented, beautiful and gracious cat Pepper. �

With the passing of Baby Boo and Sugar, the time has come to say our goodbyes. SSCE Instagram and Facebook will close by the end of July.

Sugar starting her 16th birthday right with a breakfast of champions. Pasta, lentils, chickpeas, beef meatballs, peas, carrots, beef mince, slice of ham, probiotics and one biscuit.

Hey peeps. Sugar has been diagnosed with Cushings disease. 15 years old, arthritic and blind enough to not be allowed to drive, we're not sure what this means for her future. With baby Boo already in hospice old age care, I guess we'll just love and appreciate them the best we can, every single day.

Boo had his vet appointment yesterday. Unfortunately......taking into consideration his age (14), existing conditions, quality of life and the no guarantee of how long he will live after over $5k surgery/scans/chemo, we will be pursuing a bucket list hospice care for the little guy.
