The Noble Pursuit of Farming
Farming is one of the most essential occupations in the world. Farmers are the backbone of our food supply, working tirelessly to cultivate the crops and raise the livestock that feed nations. It is a way of life that requires immense skill, knowledge, and resilience.
At its core, farming involves nurturing the soil and tending to living plants and animals. It is a symbiotic relationship between human stewardship and the natural world. Successful farmers must have a deep understanding of both cutting-edge agricultural practices and the timeless patterns of nature itself.

While the romanticized vision of pastoral farm life can make it seem quaint, modern farming is a scientific and technological tour-de-force.

Factors like soil nutrient management, pest and disease control, environmental impacts, animal husbandry, and much more must be carefully calculated. Farming requires business savvy as much as green thumbs.

Yet, for all its complexities, farming remains one of the most fulfilling ways to apply human industry. Coaxing life from the earth and witnessing the fruits of one's labor is an unparalleled source of satisfaction. The farmer's day is hard, but it connects us to the cycles of the Earth in ways that office jobs cannot.

So let us celebrate the farmers - the providers of our sustenance and the guardians of our landscapes. Their work is as vital as any profession in ensuring our survival and prosperity.

I believe AI is bad, so prove me wrong.

For over a month now, I have been thinking, what is the value of a post if AI has become this excellent and web scraping AI programs are copying content and shunning them out in large numbers, more people are becoming lazier, and some of us who put in hard work are getting lesser and lesser value.

Companies with deep pockets are spending money on ads using AI-generated content, displacing well-researched content.

What does the future hold for developers, writers, content developers and product managers?

If we look behind the scenes and take a deep, introspective look at ourselves, we will find one undeniable truth: we are currently at war.

The war against Ai.

I believe in the future of AI, but such power can destroy us all if we do not take care. If you feel I am wrong, please share your thoughts.

I am listening.

Fertilizer Shortage Hits Nigerian Farmers Hard in 2020

For smallholder farmers across Nigeria, the 2020 planting season has brought a major challenge - access to affordable fertilizer.

A combination of supply chain disruptions, currency fluctuations, and erratic government policies has created a fertilizer shortage crisis.

The problems began earlier this year with the pandemic-related lockdowns and restrictions on international shipping. Nigeria imports a large portion of its fertilizer from overseas, and those import channels were severely constrained.

At the same time, the naira's depreciation against the dollar made the imported fertilizers that did arrive considerably more expensive for Nigerian farmers and distributors to purchase in local currency terms.

The federal government's controversial ban on fertilizer blending locally added to the supply crunch. While aimed at promoting primary producers, the policy backfired by removing a major source of fertilizer production in the country.

With planting season underway, Nigerian farmers now face difficult choices. They can attempt to acquire fertilizer at exorbitant prices from whatever limited supplies remain available. Or they can proceed with little to no fertilizer, accepting the likelihood of depressed crop yields.

For smallholder farmers working with tiny profit margins, the situation risks wiping out their primary source of income for the year. Agricultural organizations have urged the government to re-evaluate its policies before food security deteriorates.

Unless quick actions are taken to boost supplies through imports or local production, Nigeria's farmers may be forced to severely limit their planting areas.
