DINNER FOR ONE 🎻

Someone asked me, “Don’t your kids ever eat ordinary food?”

Of course they do.😌

Tonight’s tasting menu:

Spaghetti carefully threaded through hotdogs, with a seasonal selection of whatever vegetables I found in the fridge.

The pasta? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The vegetables? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
The hotdogs? Sent back to the kitchen 👎🏼👎🏽.
Fortunately, Paco was available for waste management.

Chef’s note: next time I’m just making the bloody pasta my way😂

Fridge dive... because buying more food before using the food I already have is trowned upon.
So dug out the veggies that have been slowly dying at the back of my fridge.
I didn’t even bother reheating my coffee. And my playlist was good enough to make chopping feel less like a chore.
And before anyone asks... all fingers are still accounted for.
The only thing getting chopped up, was me on the kitchen dance floor.

Some days it’s less “meal planning” and more “what can I pull together before someone starts asking for snacks?” 😂
After all, we are all struggling with the balancing act of figuring out what’s for dinner while trying to squeeze in extra veggies 😉
While trying to keep our sanity intact!!

Often people think I shop at specialty stores, yet most of the time, the supermarket around the corner has everything I need to make a decent dinner.
Good food isn’t about fancy ingredients. It’s about knowing what to do with the ones you have.
This time I popped into PLUS, grabbed a few basics and turned them into a balanced dinner the whole family could enjoy.
Simple. Delicious. Dinner sorted.

No turning back now.
For a long time, if you knew me, you probably knew me through a plate of food. And while that woman is still very much here (clearly 😂), there’s a hell of a lot more happening around the plate now.
Motherhood happened.
Life happened.
Injury happened.
Burnout definitely fu***ng happened.
And somewhere in all of that, I changed!
I’m finding my way back into the kitchen, but I’m not interested in squeezing myself back into the version of me that existed before everything changed.
So yes, there’ll still be beautiful food.
But there will also be burnt s**t and mistakes. 😂
My boys. Our kitchen. Creativity. Lessons. Business. Motherhood. Reinvention. And whatever else finds its way through the front door.
I spent years showing you what was on the plate.
Maybe now it’s time I showed you the whole house.

Perfection is sooooooo… overrated!
Some of the best things I’ve ever made started with me thinking, well… I’ve fu**ed that up. 😂
A little improvising, a little swearing, and somehow we ended up here with a damn good story to tell.
Maybe that’s the lesson 🤔🤔if you f**k up… f**k up beautifully.
