4 bull calves later, our Stella decided she didn't want to be known as only a boy mom anymore! She welcomed a little red heifer to the herd yesterday. Welcome to Bird Cup, "Miss Priss!"

How on earth I saw this guy, I have no idea. I got it to safety and out of the field. Is this a baby quail? I am not sure. It doesn't much matter, any creature would be worth pushing in the clutch. I did it multiple times for fawns, too.

We farm because we love animals! We want them to have quality life. Even the wild ones!

They hay sure is thinner than usual. That drought was brutal. Thankful to have the fields we have and praying for a decent harvest.

Another big and meaningful day at Bird Cup Farm! After two years away, the first born heifer on this property made her way back home. It was hard to see her go back then (for Bryan, she was the one who got away) but we had no intention of replacing her sire and it was the right decision at the time. She's been happy and well taken care of, and brings proof of all of that with her bull calf at her side. We are so thankful for the wonderful home and herd she has been a part of the last two years. Y'all welcome Stitch and Conway back to Bird Cup!

Daisy couldn't help but let her Irish heritage shine on St. Patrick's day with a little red heifer! This is the one I (Michelle) have been waiting for.... flaming locks of auburn hair and all. Please help us welcome "Jolene" to the herd!

Goldie, our herd matriarch, is due to calve any day now. A little pampering with a mud mask is just what she needs before the baby gets here. Goldie will be 17 this year!

Another 2026 calf on the ground this morning. Daxana has been playing coy for months now. I was surprised to find a little black heifer calf leading mom through the big herd during my morning check in. Welcome to the herd, "Patience!"

First calf of the year goes to Clariel! In the early and very cold hours of the morning, she gave us a little red bull calf. He's had a few meals now and is warm and happy. Momma is attentive and gentle, introducing him to some curious cows and heifers. Welcome to Bird Cup Farm little guy!

In 2025, we started the year with a bull calf and ended up with 15 bull calves and only 5 heifers. Could this be another bull year?
