A few days ago, we visited DB55 together with Hyssop and ryuichiro20012000 to prepare for Japanese Wine Day 2026.

As this will be the first time we're hosting the event at DB55, we thought some of you might be curious about the venue itself.

And honestly, we loved it.

The space is bright, spacious and filled with natural light. The high ceilings create a sense of openness, while the atmosphere feels calm and welcoming at the same time.

It feels like the kind of place where you can quietly enjoy a glass of wine, but also spend hours with friends, food and music.

One of our favourite features is the large entrance that opens the venue towards the outside, creating a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. In early July — arguably the best season in Amsterdam — we think it will make for a very special setting.

We also fell in love with the staircase at the back of the venue. Whether you'd like to sit down with a glass of wine, take a short break from the crowd, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy the view over the space, it feels like one of those places that people naturally make their own.

On July 4th, this space will be filled with Japanese wine, Japanese food, music, conversations and all of you.

We can't wait.

From Tokyo to Rotterdam.

Ramen Tomoharu brings authentic Japanese ramen culture to the Netherlands through their ramen, carefully crafted Japanese otsumami, a refined yet welcoming atmosphere shaped by thoughtful design, and a carefully curated selection of Japanese wines.

This photo was taken during a visit from ココ・ファーム・ワイナリー, Tomoharu’s favorite winery, whose team traveled all the way from Tochigi, Japan, to Rotterdam.

It’s always inspiring to see places like Tomoharu sharing the true flavors, craftsmanship, and hospitality of Japan with a European audience. More than a ramen restaurant, it is a place where guests can slow down, enjoy excellent food and wine, and experience a genuine taste of Japan.

If you find yourself in Rotterdam, is well worth a visit.

As the grand finale of our European tour with ココ・ファーム・ワイナリー, we had the great honor of being welcomed to the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan in Bratislava, Slovakia.

This special evening was a fitting highlight to conclude our journey. We were treated to a tour of the beautiful residence, enjoyed Chef Yamazaki’s outstanding cuisine, and spent hours sharing conversations over wine and friendship.

What made this occasion particularly meaningful was the connection that brought us together. During a previous visit to Slovakia, we happened to discover that Ambassador Kawakami’s hometown is Ashikaga City in Tochigi Prefecture—the home of COCO FARM & WINERY.

What began as a wonderful coincidence led to many memorable conversations and, ultimately, this opportunity to gather again in Bratislava.

We were also delighted to share the evening with our local partners from Solo Spirits. Discussions ranged from wine and regional culture to the ties connecting Slovakia, Ashikaga, and Japanese wine, making for an inspiring and unforgettable evening.

As we continue our efforts to introduce and promote Japanese wine in Slovakia, we look forward to strengthening these connections and creating new opportunities together.

Our sincere thanks to the Embassy of Japan in Slovakia Embassy of Japan in Slovakia, Ambassador Kawakami, and everyone who made this remarkable evening possible.

Our final destination on Coco Farm & Winery’s European tour was Bratislava, Slovakia.

We were warmly welcomed by our local distribution partner, , and had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Bratislava and visit a local winery.

One of the highlights of the trip was an industry event hosted by the Solo Spirits team at .winebar. Despite being held on a Monday evening, around 50 professionals—including chefs, sommeliers, and other members of the wine and hospitality community—joined us to discover Coco Farm wines.

Another memorable moment was our visit to the Embassy of Japan in Slovakia . Through a special connection with Ambassador Kawakami, whose hometown is Ashikaga City in Tochigi Prefecture—the home of Coco Farm & Winery—we were honored to enjoy a wonderful food and wine pairing prepared by the official residence chef. We also made a promise to meet again in Ashikaga in the near future.

With this visit, our European tour comes to an end. Over nearly 20 days, we traveled across five cities, meeting inspiring people and sharing unforgettable experiences along the way. The journey has given us great confidence in the growing presence and future potential of Coco Farm wines in Europe.

To everyone who welcomed us, supported us, and shared this journey with us—thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Last week, we had the honor of presenting Coco Farm & Winery wines at the Residence of the Embassy of Japan in Berlin. .berlin

We are deeply grateful to Ambassador Shino, the Residence Chefs, and the Embassy team for welcoming us and making this special opportunity possible.

The Embassy of Japan in Germany has long been a strong supporter of Japanese wine, serving a wide range of Japanese wines at official occasions over the years, including wines from Coco Farm & Winery.

Through these efforts, the Embassy has played an important role in introducing the quality and diversity of Japanese wine to guests across Germany.

Ambassador Shino has further advanced this mission by introducing Japanese wines to distinguished visitors and Consuls General throughout Germany.

Through her dedication and leadership, she has made a remarkable contribution to raising awareness and appreciation of Japanese wine in Germany, and we are sincerely grateful for her continued support.

We were also delighted to be joined by Paweł and Alex from , the leading provider of wine education in Germany. We look forward to future collaborations with them as we continue promoting Japanese wine in Germany.

Finally, we would like to thank the passionate members of the Embassy staff who are not pictured here, as well as our Berlin distribution partner, , whose invaluable support helped make this gathering possible.

From Amsterdam, our Coco Farm & Winery European tour continued on to Berlin.

One of our main goals here was to reconnect with our local distribution partner , the restaurants who continue to share and support Coco Farm wines in Germany. We are truly grateful for their passion and hospitality.

The highlights of our stay included meeting Ambassador Shino at the Embassy of Japan in Germany .berlin and hosting a Japanese wine masterclass at . Both were memorable opportunities to introduce Japanese wine to a wider audience.

Along the way, we also explored some of Berlin’s history at the Berlin Wall and enjoyed local favorites like Currywurst. It was also wonderful to visit friends in the industry at and .eu.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone we met in Berlin. We look forward to returning soon.

Next, we headed to the final destination of our European journey: Bratislava, Slovakia.

Some promises take a little time, but they’re worth the wait.

For years, Nieuwland had been serving and enjoying wines from . When Quan-san and Shan-san visited Japan, they made a special trip to Ashikaga, Tochigi, home of Coco Farm Winery.

That visit sparked a promise: “When we come to the Netherlands, we’ll be sure to visit Kitchen Nieuwland.”

This evening was the fulfillment of that promise.

To celebrate the occasion, Quan-san carefully selected wines from Coco Farm Winery alongside European wines connected to our shared story. Friends with ties to Ashikaga also joined us around the table, making the gathering even more meaningful.

It was one of those rare nights when you could truly feel how wine brings people together—across countries, cultures, and years. A table filled with friendship, shared memories, and new connections, all made possible by a mutual love of wine.

We’re grateful for this special evening and look forward to many more moments together in the years ahead.

Our European tour with Coco Farm & Winery continued from Paris to Amsterdam.

In the Netherlands, we had the pleasure of meeting with our existing customers, as well as new partners and professionals with whom we hope to collaborate in the near future. We also made our way to Rotterdam, where we connected with people who share our passion for wine, food, culture, and creativity.

We were also pleased to spend time with the team at .jp, with whom we are working on an ongoing creative project.

On our day off, we visited the natural wine fair , where we enjoyed conversations with fellow producers and gained fresh inspiration from the vibrant natural wine community.

To everyone we met in the Netherlands, thank you for your warm welcome, your time, and your enthusiasm. We look forward to future collaborations and to continuing to share the story of Japanese wine together.

Our five-city European tour has now reached its halfway point, and there is still much more to come.
