We’re welcoming a new vintage of

In 2002, when Emilie and Brice Bolognini decided to take over the Mas Mellet estate in the Gard. They reduced 27 hectares of abandoned vines to 16 that are now worked biodynamically with Located on the terroir of Costières de Nîmes, made up of sandstone and gapans (red clay), hilly, it is located in a windy corridor which protects it from diseases. And its proximity to the Camargue ponds, visible from the estate, and the Mediterranean Sea, gives its wines a welcome freshness and salinity. All cuvées marked “Salines” are made along Eric Pfifferling (Anglore) from parcels on ancient salt flats and vinified without SO2. The wines are available on our May pricelist for professionals and from today on the webshop.

Maxime Crotet is in!

After 10 years working alongside Frédéric Cossard, Maxime started his négociant domaine in 2021. After what was a challenging vintage in 2021 in Burgundy, The Beaunois looked farther than his home region to bring in grapes from the Jura, Alsace and Vaucluse to name a few. The wines from Burgundy will play a much larger role moving forward. He controls harvest at the source, prefering to pick early and keep some vibrancy. All wines are vinified as naturally as possible, there are no added yeasts, enzymes or SO2 during fermentation and minimal doses of SO2 at bottling if necessary.

We think Maxime is a talent in the cellar, clear direction and wines with great freshness and varietal expression. Available from this month Savagnin, Poulsard and Riesling. Send us an email [email protected]

New wines from Mallorca

For a while now, we have been eager to expand our reach further into Spain to discover new winemakers, new varieties terroirs and new ways of working. Our travels in December of 2023 brought us to Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic islands off the Spanish coast of Valencia.

There is a strong sense of place, Mediterranean breeze, warm winds of the mistral and red clay soils rich in iron that give the wines a unique stamp. Eloi and Panduro work with a range of local varieties from Callet, Manto Negro, Monastrell, Fogoneu Francès and Macabeo scattered across tiny plots of young and old vines. The wines are nuanced and energetic with incredibly drinkability.

The last vintages from Domaine Ugo. Until 2019 the Domaine had been a part of the Guirardel family since the 16th century. Francoise Casaubieilh and Husband Pierre Coloumb worked on 5 hectares of Petit & Gros Manseng in the village of Monein in the Jurançon. The wines are characterised by late harvests and fermentations to dry without additions, always with long elevage. We offer the last few cases across 5 cuvées ranging from dry to sweet from 2013 to 2017.

Louis Terral

Tucked away in the Bugey hills in the village of Mérignat, we have had the privilege of working with Louis since the beginning. In 2018 he began vinifying uniquely still wines in the middle of Cerdon territory with the certitude that these terroirs could deliver high quality still gamay, made naturally and grown biodynamically. The majority of the parcels have been converted and certified Demeter. In addition to biodynamic preparations, treatments are always supplemented with various herbal teas (nettle, horsetail, wicker, buckthorn, comfrey ...), black soap and sometimes essential oils. The goal however is go to further, applying concepts of agroforestry to his vines and garden.

For the sake of consistency, Louis produce natural wines from natural viticulture. All the cuvées are pressed by hand, vinified with the greatest delicacy throughout the process and are completely pure. We release a range of exciting Gamay's and a handful of Chardonnay's found in our January pricelist. Full producer profile through the link in the bio*

Introducing Jérome Lambert

As a true farmer-winemaker, Jérôme tends to his vines, vegetable garden, and farm animals with the same extreme care. He began making wine in the 2000s, but it took several years to establish a small vineyard of 6 hectares and set up his cellar. Located in Anjou at the heart of Coteaux-du-Layon in Rablay-sur-Layon, he primarily cultivates Chenin, with a touch of Grolleau and Gamay. The dry whites result from various grape harvests – about a week apart, depending on the fullness of maturity – giving rise, in order, to the cyve aged Chenin Blanc “Coulée de Source”. Energetic Gamay and Grolleau supplement the range of cuvées alongside a handful of our favorite pétillants.

But even more importantly, Jérome is one of the rare people to offer such a warm welcome you can’t help but stay at the cellar for a day, he quickly became a friend and this warmth carries through all of his wines.
