Three bottles, three different takes on Kentucky straight bourbon

David Nicholson 1843 — 100 proof, made to the original 1843 recipe, unchanged. Caramel, oak, long finish. Great on the rocks with an orange twist.

Daviess County — 96 proof, a blend of two mashbills (smooth wheated + traditional). Sweetness and spice in one glass.

Rebel 100 — 100 proof wheated bourbon from Luxrow Distillers, original 1849 recipe. Softer and rounder, no peppery bite, still full-bodied.

New arrival: Farmer's Botanical Gin.

Straight from the USA, this small batch gin is crafted with organically grown botanicals and bottled at a confident 46.7%. The recipe reads like a garden in summer: juniper, elderflower, lemongrass, coriander, rose and angelica root, with a few select botanicals kept secret.

In the glass it's fresh and floral up front, with juniper firmly holding the backbone. Elderflower and rose bring a delicate perfume, lemongrass adds a bright citrusy lift, and the higher proof carries it all with plenty of intensity. Beautiful in a classic G&T with a twist of lemon, and it makes a seriously good Martini.

New arrival: Canto de Lobo!!

Fresh on our shelves, this artisanal mezcal comes from Albarradas, Oaxaca, where it has been produced by the Martínez family for five generations using artisanal and sustainable methods. The name is a nod to the wolf: social, loyal and a little wild, which is exactly how this mezcal likes to be enjoyed. Canto de Lobo Mezcal

Made from 100% Espadín and bottled as a joven at 40%, it pours with aromas of roasted agave, green herbs and soft smoke. On the palate you'll find sweet cooked agave, citrus zest and a touch of minerality, finishing warm and gently smoky.
