I prodotti di “Mangiabruzzo” sono realizzati e preparati con elementi esclusivamente locali e nazionali. La transumanza è uno dei pilastri della cultura culinaria abruzzese e dell’Italia.

NEW ADDITION - Rarefratte (Breganze, Vicenza 🇮🇹)

There’s something romantic and beautiful in a grandson deciding to take on his grandfather’s work!
In Breganze, in the northern part of the province of Vicenza (Veneto) Cristian Moresco took over this small winery from his grandfather in 2011, wishing to give a new life to native vineyards. Cristian takes care of 5.5 hectares of vineyards up to 110 years old (see photo, Parcella Museo), in clayey soil with intrusive lava rocks (around 120 meters asl) and effusive lava rock in the higher parts (400 meters asl). 🪨

Their approach is minimalistic: all their wines are single-varietal from plants that have almost disappeared. Gruaja, Pedevenda, Groppella di Breganze, Marzemina Bianca, Vespaiola, Glera lunga: after surviving two wars, these native varieties were in danger of being abandoned forever in favour of the prevailing capitalist methods and the fashion for international varieties. 🍇

Rarefratte offers 5 wines from white grapes and 2 wines from red grapes:
⁃ Vespaiolo, 100% Vespaiolo
⁃ 8-Cai, Glera Lunga 100%
⁃ Sciampagna, Marzemina Bianca
⁃ Vespaiolo Riserva, wine from Parcella Museo)
⁃ Pedeveska Riserva, Pedevenda 100%
⁃ Tagli Rari, Groppella di Breganze
⁃ Sasso Bianco: spumante of Vespaiolo grapes, aged 36 months on the lees

💥NEW CUVÈÈ GIUSEPPE CIPOLLA 🚀

We have just received Giuseppe Cipolla’s Cuvée!

The name of the wine, Vino Rosso del Platani, refers to the Valle del Platani, an area of Sicily located in the province of Agrigento, a territory rich in history, nature, and rural traditions with varied landscapes and chalky-sulfurous areas.

This fantastic Cuvée is composed of 80% Nero d’Avola, 15% Syrah, and 5% Inzolia.
During vinification, the grapes are destemmed and fermented through maceration of the skins for 4 to 6 days. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and in 225 liter and 500 liter wooden barrels.

We won’t reveal anything about the quality and sensory details of this fantastic wine, leaving you to discover it for yourselves!😜

Such an excellent cuvée that, if you drink it and drive, it’s the policeman that pulls you over who committed the crime.🚨👮‍♂️

NEW ADDITION - GUSTINELLA (ETNA 🌋)

In winter 2024 we visited Mount Etna and found ourselves in Maletto (1100 m ASL), getting to meet Sonia Gambino. There, I discovered a true hidden gem of etna wine 💎

In Maletto, Sonia transformed her family home into a small, curated winery, blending deep roots with a newly discovered passion for winemaking. Inspired by her grandfather and working with local grape growers, Gustinella was born: a project shaped by carefully experimenting with the great variety of grapes found in the wild heights of Etna

After visiting Sonia in December 2024 and tasting the unique flavours of Maletto’s volcanic land, I knew this discovery had to be shared.
That’s why we now imports Gustinella wines to the Netherlands 🍷🚀
The Gustinella winery offers:
•⁠ ⁠Jungimmune Bianco 70% Grecanico Dorato, 30% little local and foreign varieties
