TEA | THEE | TEE | 茶 | and related products Chadailha is founded in 2020 in the Netherlands. After World War II the main island was known in the West as Formosa.

Our tea originating from the island and country Taiwan in the Pacific Ocean, East Asia. The name Formosa dates back to 1541, when Portugues sailors put that name on an uncharted island as Ilha Formosa, what means beautiful island. That’s our name origin, Chadailha (Cha da ilha) what freely translated is: tea from island or tea island.

Grown in the misty, high-altitude regions of Taiwan, Green Jade tea undergoes a light oxidation process, giving it a delicate balance between green and oolong characteristics. The tea leaves are carefully hand-picked and gently processed, preserving their natural sweetness and freshness.

Jin-Xuan, also known as “Golden Lily” tea, is a Taiwanese oolong tea prized for its smooth, creamy flavor and floral aroma. Originating from the central mountains of Taiwan, it is known for its unique processing technique, which involves a light oxidation level, giving it a taste profile that balances between green and traditional oolong teas. The leaves of Jin-Xuan are large and green, and the tea itself has a pale golden liquor with a velvety mouthfeel.

Due to our move to Taiwan, we are closing the Chadailha tea and chocolate webshop. Operating the shop from the other side of the world is not sustainable, for both our customers and ourselves.

This is not a goodbye, but a see you again in the future.
