Wij zijn VAEX, The Livestock Traders . Gespecialiseerd in de handel van biggen, slachtvarkens, -biggen en -zeugen, vaarzen en rundvee. Als een sterke internationale partner verbinden wij de markt lokaal en internationaal. Met een focus op heel Europa, en soms daarbuiten, koppelen wij vraag en aanbod. Onze expertise en ervaring maken ons tot de ideale schakel tussen verschillende markten. De vraag en aanbod van varkens en vee veranderen voortdurend. Dankzij ons nauwe contact met de markt, opgebouwd over vier generaties, begrijpen wij deze dynamiek als geen ander. We zijn diep geworteld in Europa, met aanwezigheid ter plaatse of via hechte relaties. We kennen onze afnemers persoonlijk, begrijpen de specifieke wensen van elke klant en elke regio, zijn op de hoogte van de regelgeving, verbinden de lijntjes en spreken de talen.

Vorige week bezochten Carmen, Mike en Kevin namens VAEX een bijeenkomst van Topigs Norsvin Central Europe.

Een dag met aandacht voor actuele ontwikkelingen in de varkenshouderij, van diergezondheid en biosecurity tot voeding en productieresultaten.

Juist die gesprekken maken zulke bijeenkomsten waardevol. Je hoort wat er in andere markten gebeurt, deelt ervaringen uit de praktijk en spreekt bestaande én nieuwe relaties.

Last week, Carmen, Mike and Kevin represented VAEX at a Topigs Norsvin Central Europe event.

The day focused on current developments in pig production, ranging from animal health and biosecurity to nutrition and production results.

It is exactly these conversations that make events like this so valuable. You hear what is happening in other markets, exchange practical experiences and connect with both existing and new contacts.

𝗧𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗯𝗶𝗷 𝗱𝗲 𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶ë

Deze week bezocht Dirk een vaste klant in Italië
In april leverden we hier Duroc biggen. Inmiddels zijn ze flink gegroeid en de klant is erg tevreden over de kwaliteit.
Mooi om een paar maanden later terug te zien hoe de dieren zich hebben ontwikkeld en hoe ze het doen in de stal.

Bijzonder detail: op dit bedrijf groeien de varkens door tot een gewicht van circa 260 kg.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆

This week, Dirk visited one of our long-standing customers in Italy.
In April, we delivered Duroc piglets to this farm. A few months later, they have grown considerably and the customer is very satisfied with their quality.
Great to see how the pigs have developed and how they are performing in the barn.

An interesting detail: on this farm, the pigs are raised to a weight of around 260 kg.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲?

The sector is under pressure from fluctuating milk prices, rising costs, nitrogen regulations and limited opportunities for obtaining permits. Yet Marijn Dekkers, Dairy Sector Manager at Rabobank, sees plenty of potential for entrepreneurs who continue to look ahead.

In the VAEX Magazine, he talks about the opportunities offered by technology and data, new business models, sustainability and the strength of young entrepreneurs. According to Dekkers, global demand for dairy remains strong, while Dutch dairy farmers continue to invest in their future.

“Farmers don’t want to stand still for ten years. They want to move forward.”

Binnen de agrarische sector draait alles om betrouwbaarheid, vakmanschap en passie. De gedreven vrouwen op de boerderij vormen hierin een onmisbare schakel. 🐷✨

𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗮.

These three trucks with piglets are travelling from Denmark to Serbia. In Hungary, they make a stop at our EU-approved resting station Anhoka.
With three separate compartments, Anhoka can accommodate three full truckloads at the same time. Each compartment has its own loading and unloading ramp, floor heating and automatic feeding system.
This gives the animals the required rest before continuing their journey.

For fifteen years, we have been working closely with Albanian livestock trader Edoardo Rrotani. A partnership built on trust, quality and selecting the right animals for the local market.

Recently, we delivered another group of pregnant heifers from Denmark. With strong genetics and good milk production, these animals contribute to the further development of dairy farms in Albania.
