🍻THANK YOU FOR JOINING US🍻

Wat een dag! Het is alweer bijna een week geleden sinds ons 12-jarig jubileumfestival en we zitten nog steeds na te genieten!
We willen iedereen enorm bedanken die dit mogelijk heeft gemaakt! Alle gastbrouwerijen voor hun geweldige bieren, onze vrienden die ons goed hebben gevoed, onze toegewijde medewerkers en vrijwilligers, en natuurlijk iedereen die erbij was en er een dag van heeft gemaakt die we nooit zullen vergeten!

What a day! It’s been almost a week since our 12th Anniversary Festival and we’re still buzzing!
We want to say huge thank you to everyone who made it possible! All our guest breweries for bringing their incredible brews, our friends who kept us well fed, our dedicated staff and volunteers , and of course every single one of you who showed up and made it a day we’ll never forget!

“Our chef Sjoerd will be giving you a first taste of the new Kaapse Kaai kitchen. Inspired by Mediterranean cuisine in the broadest sense, he serves dishes full of flavour, sunshine, and character. This is what you can expect soon in the taproom!”

** Especially for the festival, you can pair your b**r with an amazing BBQ côte de boeuf by our chef Sjoerd. At 1kg each, it’s perfect for sharing with your whole group!

Marijke is the 7th generation cheesemaker of this more than 300-year-old family business.Her cheeses are considered among the very best in the Netherlands!”

In the weeks leading up to our 12th Anniversary Festival we are introducing breweries who will be joining us and today we have our last (but definitely not least 😉) two guest breweries to introduce:

To make these introductions extra special, our founder Tsjomme shares a few words about how we got to know them!

🍺 Laugar Brewing (ES)
"A brewery from the Basque Country and friends from the very beginning. They brew b**rs with the quality you’d expect from a brewery located at the epicenter of the gastronomic world.
The people who work there brew with passion, energy, and a love for flavor. The first time they attended our festival, they brewed a b**r while pouring pints and even fitted a fermenter with a cooling line at the same time. They’re legends"!

🍺 La Pirata Brewing (ES)
"La Pirata is the brainchild of Aran, and also a Kaapse friend from the very beginning. When they had just started out, I invited them to our festival, and we both immediately felt like we were family. The brewery is located in the mountains near Barcelona. As a true Catalan, good taste runs in his blood, and he creates truly exceptional b**rs, from easy-drinking brews to beautiful barrel-aged b**rs and grape ales. You won’t meet a kinder person than Aran, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find better b**rs".

🍺 Walhalla Craft B**r (NL)
"Just like Kromme Haring, we see Walhalla as kindred spirits in the Dutch b**r scene. Aart makes amazing b**rs, avoids following trends, and fully does his own thing. Every b**r they produce is incredibly tasty and consistently high quality. We’re happy their new location is finally up and running, and we hope to remain friends for many years to come".

🍺 Brussels B**r Project (BE)
"We’ve been friends with this brewery from the very beginning... and they’ve grown at least tenfold by now. When I invited founders Sébastien and Olivier to our very first festival, they didn’t even have a brewery yet, let alone b**r on draft. They showed up with bottled b**r and fridges to serve it. These guys have been a huge inspiration to us. In the 12 years I’ve known them, they’ve built two impressive breweries, produce phenomenal b**rs, now have six of their own bars, and truly have b**r running through their veins".

🍺 Fermentage (PT)
"This is a brewery we’ll be meeting for the first time. We’ve heard nothing but great things, so let’s give them a warm welcome in Rotterdam".

🍺To Øl (DK)
"These are true legends from the early days! A brewery with a similar story to Kaapse…just about TEN times bigger. They started without their own brewery in 2010, and in 2019 they opened To Øl City in an incredibly cool location: a former ketchup factory. It’s a phenomenal brewery where, besides b**r, they also produce canned cocktails, c***r, and their own spirits.
An absolute role model for Kaapse. And their b**r is DELICIOUS!"

🍺 Norm Brewing (BE)
"This is a brewery we’ll be meeting for the first time. We’ve heard nothing but good things, so let’s give them a warm welcome in Rotterdam"

🍺 Brouwerij de Kromme Haring (NL)
"A brewery close to our hearts. Just like Kaapse, they have a strong love for “unsellable” styles…and they brew them from time to time, which makes us very happy.
They’ve been producing some of the best b**rs in the country for years. High quality, entirely in their own style, without caring about trends in the slightest. Here’s to staying friends for a long time to come.

MEET OUR FRIENDS!

Over the coming weeks we will be introducing all the guest breweries who will be joining us for our 12th Anniversary Festival, and today we are starting with the first three!

To make these introductions extra special, our founder Tsjomme shares how we got to know each individual brewery.

🍺 The Kernel Brewery (UK)
“Without this brewery, Kaapse Brouwers would not have existed. In 2011, I started working at The Rake, one of London’s first craft b**r bars, located in Borough Market, where I was introduced to The Kernel’s b**rs. Literally every b**r I tried from them was delicious.

The brewery is a perfect example of “small brewery, big impact.” In terms of approach, Evin O'Riordain is a role model for the b**r industry: simple b**rs of outstanding quality. The Kernel doesn’t prioritize revenue or growth, but instead focuses on quality of life, quality of work, and peace of mind.

There are even breweries with signs that say: “What would Evin do?”
If you ever lose your way… that’s your answer" 😉

🍺Sleeping Village Brewery (NO)
“We had been friends with this brewery long before it even existed. We already knew the owner and brewer from his time as a barrel manager and brewer at the legendary Nøgne Ø, where he met the other owner, Ingebjørg, who is the daughter of Nøgne Ø’s founder.
Sleeping Village’s b**rs are always perfectly on point and rank among the best in the world”.

🍺Q***r Brewing (UK)
“We met this brewery at a festival hosted by our friends from Brussels B**r Project. It’s an inspiring group of people who brew phenomenal b**rs.

I can’t wait to get to know them better!"
