Parent stock lighting is all about balance. The right color choices can support calm behavior, fertility and animal welfare at the same time.

In this video we explain how different light colors affect parent stock and how to use them correctly in daily management.

Cool white can support growth, but it may also increase unwanted or aggressive behavior, which means it should be used carefully. Warm white helps keep birds calmer by reducing activity levels.

You’ll also learn how monochromatic blue light is ideal for handling layer breeders, while it may not always be suitable for broiler breeders. Red light mixed with white can help reduce feather pecking by masking blood or wounds. Red used on its own should only be applied in severe pecking situations.

These insights help you make better lighting decisions that support welfare, fertility and stable behavior in parent stock houses.

Today is the first day of Aquaculture UK in Glasgow.

Our colleague Michiel van der Meer is representing HATO Aqua. You can find him at booth B65 at the Scottish Event Campus on 16 and 17 June.

He will be there to shed more light on our latest innovations for aquaculture and how light supports fish behaviour, welfare and performance.

Deze zomer zoeken we hulp in onze productie in Sittard. Je werkt mee aan onze verlichtingsoplossingen, helpt met praktische taken en leert hoe producten bij HATO worden gemaakt.

Je staat op de werkvloer, werkt samen met ervaren collega’s en krijgt duidelijke werkzaamheden. Ideaal als je graag bezig bent en nieuwsgierig bent naar werken in een technische omgeving.

Bij HATO maak je kennis met een team dat iedere dag werkt aan verlichting voor de agrarische sector. Gewoon door mee te draaien, vragen te stellen en aan te pakken.

Introducing NIMBUS, our new above-water lighting solution for aquaculture.

In hatcheries, nurseries and land-based aquaculture environments, light plays an important role in creating stable conditions above the water. NIMBUS is developed to support fish welfare, predictable behaviour and practical daily operations through controlled illumination.

With balanced light distribution, gentle light transitions and focused downward output, NIMBUS helps create a calm lighting environment above the tanks. Its compact and lightweight design supports practical handling and installation in demanding aquaculture settings.

We will showcase NIMBUS at Aquaculture UK on 16 and 17 June 2026 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow, Scotland.

Good lighting plays a clear role in fish behaviour and daily farm performance, and NEPTUS is designed with that in mind.

It is a high power submersible LED for sea cage environments, with flicker free deep dimming and light output built to stay stable underwater.

The lamp is engineered to support growth, help prevent maturation, and reduce stress through a daylight-optimised spectrum and controlled dimming.

It is also built for practical use, with fast installation and a durable underwater housing made for marine conditions.
