Ciao and welcome to all of you who are new here. I’m really glad you found me!
Nona is my very small dining space. Yes, it’s true that there are only four tables, plus five seats at the bar. That means it can sometimes be a bit challenging to find a spot. I know it requires patience, and I truly appreciate that. Thank you for taking the time🤍
I started my journey with a catering company when I was 22. It grew into a lively business with many beautiful moments, but over time I missed something. I missed the feeling of cooking the food that comes from home, from memory, from family kitchens. That is where the idea of Nona began. A place to cook in a more personal way, just a few nights a month, alongside catering.
The plan was to open in May 2020. Then COVID came, and everything shifted. Because of the situation and the limitations around events, I lost my catering company. It was very hard to see something I had worked on for years change so suddenly. The space for Nona remained, but it was still just a small project of love.
Little by little, we continued. Renovating, adjusting, and moving forward where possible. In October 2021, Nona finally opened her doors. It is something I am very proud of. Even with restrictions at the start, we found our way.
Nona was never meant to become a full restaurant. It was simply something close to my heart. And now it is something many of you hold close as well, which means everything to me.
Thank you for being here. For your patience, your support, and your kindness.
Nona is, and will always be, a love letter to my family and where I come from. With love,
Julia Nona
