Elemental Water Makers provides renewable driven desalination systems for drinking water production. With rising energy prices and increasing freshwater scarcity, there is a growing need for renewable driven desalination. Elemental Water Makers has developed an innovative desalination system that only uses solar and/or wind energy in an efficient and costs effective way. Our innovation only uses f

luctuating renewables to continuously produce low cost drinking water from seawater or brackish groundwater. A solution very suitable for regions with a lack of fresh water. Join us in solving fresh water scarcity by the sun, sea, earth & wind!

Yesterday was World Water Day 2026! 🌍💧 This year’s theme "Where water flows, equality grows" is at the very heart of what we do.

When a village gets a reliable source of clean water, the burden of collection is lifted from the shoulders of women and girls. That means more time for school, more safety, and more opportunity.

We’re proud to highlight the incredible progress being made through our partnerships:
🇲🇬 Madagascar: Replaced saltwater wells to save thousands of hours for local women.
🇸🇴 Somalia: Providing a lifeline for 18,000 people alongside Save the Children.
🇾🇪 Yemen: Delivering fossil-fuel-free water in volatile regions with CARE International.

One of the biggest hurdles in sustainable development isn’t the technology, it’s the upfront cost.

At Elemental Water Makers, we’re solving this with Phased Desalination. Instead of building for a 10-year projection on day one, our modular systems allow resorts, communities, villas, industries, and municipalities to "Grow as You Go.

The Benefits of Phased Expansion:
✅ Minimise Initial Capex: Align your investment with your current water demand.
✅ Seamless Scalability: Add capacity in stages as your project grows
✅ Maintain Efficiency: High-performance desalination at every step.

From providing grid-independent water in to chemical-free solutions in and life-saving solar desalination in , we are proving that environmental stewardship and economic growth go hand-in-hand. Check out how we’re transforming water security across 37 countries:

3.275 billion liters of fresh water in 37 countries.

2025 was the year sustainable desalination went global. While the challenges of access to clean water are increasing, our decentralised solutions are ramping up. This year, our solar desalination projects achieved:

💧 3.275 Billion Liters: Fresh water created from the sea (enough to fill 1310 Olympic pools).
🌱 16,375 Tons of CO2 Saved: The equivalent of planting 750,000 trees.
📉 70% Cost Reduction: The average drop in water costs for our implemented projects.
🌍 37 Countries: The global footprint of our mission to end water scarcity.

None of this would be possible without our incredible team, partners, and community. Thank you for helping us make the world a better place, one project at a time.

The challenges of water access are growing, but so is our commitment. Bring on 2026. 🚀

We are thrilled to announce a monumental achievement: Elemental Water Makers has officially surpassed 100 sustainable desalination projects worldwide! 🚰 🌍

This milestone, spanning over 35 countries, proves that clean, affordable water powered solely by the sun is not just a concept—it's a global reality. With the average global water tariff rising by +6.2% (GWI, 2025) and water scarcity increasing, the need for independent, low-energy solutions has never been more urgent.

Our innovative technology delivers reliable, chemical-free fresh water, replacing costly, high-maintenance systems. See the impact in action:
- : We partnered with Greenlink ReGen to bring a solar-powered solution to Fanjove Island, supporting eco-tourism and protecting the fragile marine ecosystem by eliminating reliance on imported water.
- : Coco Beach Resort replaced three previous, problematic systems with our user-friendly and highly efficient solution, achieving the reliable water security they needed since 2008.

This success is fueled by our growing team! Please join us in welcoming our two new project engineers, Max De Man and Emiel Niehof, who are helping us scale our mission.

How much would it cost to get a consistent supply of clean water for your project, no matter how remote?

The answer might be more affordable than you think. A new blog post breaks down the costs of solar desalination systems in 2025, revealing how you can dramatically cut your water bills while gaining total independence from traditional water sources.

Learn how to turn sunshine and seawater into a sustainable, cost-effective water solution for your resort, community, industry or villa. Dive in to see how much you could save!

A solar desalination system in 2025 typically costs between €60,000 and €400,000, depending on your daily water production needs, location, and whether you choose an off-grid or grid-connected solution. For resorts and private properties, these systems produce between 4,000 and 100,000 liters of...

Our latest update highlights our commitment to providing sustainable, solar-powered desalination solutions across the globe. We're making a significant impact by bringing clean water to communities in need, exemplified by two new school projects in hashtag that now each provide 30,000 liters of daily fresh water using only the sea and sun.

We're excited to be expanding our team and are actively hashtag a Project Engineer to help us design, build, and implement more solutions from our office in The Hague.

Another key success is the implementation of our Elemental Water Source on Pine Cay in the Turks & Caicos Islands, providing reliable, sustainable water for the exclusive resort. Their General Manager shares his experience related to project management, clear communication, and system operations.

The update also touches on projects like the Bahamas solar desal at Little Harbour, which offers a chemical-free, energy-independent alternative to conventional desalination. Beyond installations, we're engaging with the community, having brewed a special North Sea beer for the North Sea Talent Day and presenting our technology at a Caribbean water challenges workshop:
