The story of Hofseth started in an rebuilt dairy plant in 2005, and 15 years later we are one of the largest salmon and trout processors in Europe with an annual production of 60,000 tons. In everything we do, we focus on our three main strategies that has been with us from the start:

We were honored to welcome His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon Magnus and delegation to learn more about Norwegian seafood production.

The Crown Prince showed strong interest in Hofseth’s strategic investment in closed containment systems at sea,a key part of our ambition for scalable and sustainable salmon production.

The visit comes ahead of the Crown Prince’s upcoming trip to Japan, where Norwegian seafood will be promoted.

Chair of the Norwegian Seafood Council, Olav Holst Dyrnes, incoming CEO of Hofseth, welcomed the delegation. Jannicke Farstad, Head of Communication and Public Relations, together with Project Director Ole Nordal, presented our ongoing initiatives to further strengthen sustainable seafood production.

In collaboration with Prophylaxia and Norsk Edelfisk, we shared insights from several years of testing, forming the foundation for Hofseth’s large-scale deployment of closed containment systems.

This marks an important step forward in shaping the future of aquaculture.

Dette markerer en viktig milepæl i utviklingen av den nedsenkbare merden som senere i år skal installeres på Vindsnes, en av våre fem oppdrettslokaliteter. Mange har vært involvert for å få dette til. Dyktige fagfolk, lokale leverandører, samarbeidspartnere og egne ansatte har lagt ned en solid innsats, fra planlegging og utvikling til bygging og sjøsetting.

Dette er lokal verdiskaping i praksis. Når vi jobber sammen på tvers av selskaper og lokale krefter, får vi til store ting.

Sharing our experience with submerged aquaculture

Submerged farming technology is on the agenda at a local aquaculture industry gathering hosted by the Næringsforeninga. This technology is becoming an increasingly important part of the future of Norwegian aquaculture.

🏆 Hofseth Awarded Best Aquaculture Site for salmon

We are proud to share that Hofseth has been awarded first place in Ewos’ annual competition recognizing the best-performing aquaculture sites along the west coast of Norway.

The winner location Overåneset in Storfjorden are selected based on documented results in:
✔️ Growth performance
✔️ Feed conversion ratio
✔️ Survival rate

This marks our third consecutive year at the top – a true hat-trick 🏆🏆🏆

These results reflect the dedication and expertise of our teams, as well as our continued focus on operational excellence, fish welfare, and efficient, sustainable production.
