Polar Permaculture LLC has experience growing food in Longyearbyen, Norway on the archipelago of Svalbard. We applied permaculture principles, techniques and practices to grew food and built local resilience in this northern-most community in the world. Now our focus is education and sharing pur journey with others.

Here's what I learned about Lofoten's moose: Arrived: 1949 (swam from Hinnøya) Population: Significant, no exact count Diet: Willows, birch, 25+ plants Lifespan: 8-12 years (up to 20) Fun fact: They swam here — literally Next time you're in Lofoten, keep your eyes on the tree line.
