I hosted an Austrian wine tasting for a wine club that has been meeting for over 10 years.
Traditional palates. Clear preferences. Strong opinions.
So of course⊠I brought a mix of classic Austrian wines and mostly natural bottles.
2 whites. 2 reds. 1 orange. And a botrytized sweet wine to close.
There were divided opinions.
There was âthis is too funky for me.â
There was a surprising âthis smells like a farmâ⊠said with a smile.
And there was one silent moment that only great sweet wine can create.
It wasnât just about tasting. It was about memory, honesty and a little risk in the glass.
