Most people start collecting w**e the same way: a few bottles they know will get better with time. Maybe gifts. Maybe leftovers from a dinner. Maybe you've already started setting bottles aside on purpose.
And then they end up in a cupboard, or a corner of the house that stays roughly the same temperature — which feels like enough.
It's a fine place to start. It's also where most collections quietly go wrong.
W**e keeps changing after it's bottled. How it changes — for better or worse — comes down to the conditions around it. Temperature swings, light, humidity. None of it shows up right away. You find out years later, when the bottle you were saving for something isn't what you remembered.
We wrote about what proper storage actually does for w**e over time, and what's worth getting right early:
W**e keeps developing after bottling. See why temperature swings stress the cork, and the 13°C / 50–70% humidity range Areni uses to protect it.
