I just learned that tilt just released A new product to add wifi access to your tilt product. Ive been using a simple solution for years that is cheaper, stable and simple that does the same thing. 😊 I love my add-on to the tilt hydrometer. Since it only has bluetooth signals, I use a small ESP32 OLED board with bluetooth and witi support with tiltbridge installed. This receives the bluetooth signal and sends it to the cloud using my wifi. Brewfather (or whatever brewing software you want) picks up this data as a custom stream and shows it wherever batch I attach the tilt. As you can see the OG (and now the FG) is the same on the OLED screen and within the brewfather app. Did I mention I loved It? đŸ€©

Finished at last 😅 Replaced about 120 m2 of decking and some of the construction underneath at the same time. Used about 1000 meters with hidden attachment. A long project at home but it turned out pretty good. 👍

Making pizza for 10 people means starting the dough two days before. I didn’t manage to take pictures other than the two dessert pizzas made after the meal. At least it was a success.

10 kg (22 pounds) pizza flour should be enough to start. Also tested dessert pizza 😊

New kitchen cabinet. First time trying to make the doors and using a router to get the led strips inside the frame of the cabinet. One led strip on each side inside and a brighter one underneath. A lot of work and I’ve still got two more cabinets to install. A fun but demanding project since I’m not a trained carpenter and doesn’t have all the tools a professional would have. My wife is happy but I always wish I could have done better. Well, next time is changing the fronts of all the doors and drawers in the kitchen. I’m definitely going to use MDF on that and not oak. Very demanding wood to work with.

The hops also need their dedicated space and this smaller freezer is perfect for storage. I accidentally got it from a neighbour and cost practically nothing.

Looking for a cheap way to get temperature controlled fridge for your fermentation? I guess a lot of you know about already, but for those who don’t: you don’t have to buy an inkbird module. You can simply buy a cheap stc-1000 and wire it up yourself. But be sure you know what you’re doing. Also, be sure you buy the correct one as there are tons of different models. I still have one that runs the temp control on one of my fridges.

I had a bit of a freak accident a few weeks back. The plan was to burn off a few remaining feather stubs on the duck before going in the oven. We were having crispy duck. Well, things didn’t go according to plan. I had to fill my small torch burner since it was empty and I noticed a noise but thought it was due to it filling up. Once I’d filled it, I tried to ignite and a ball of fire filled the air in front of me (about 1 m/3 feet I diameter). Luckily, I had my glasses on, otherwise it would have been a lot worse. There was a leak in the torch I didn’t know about. Had to go down to the emergency room to get some treatment and ended looking like an extra in a mummy film. 😂 The doctor said I’d been extremely lucky since I could have ended up with permanent damages. I guess you learn something new every day. 😁
