We were truly honored to welcome Chef Bikram Vaidya to the factory of Urban Food Industries.

Let us honor Chef , author of The Mystic Kitchens of Nepal , which recently won “Best Food Tourism Cookbook in the World” at the 31st Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in November 2025, competing against thousands of books from around the world.

Chef Vaidya is an internationally respected chef, educator, and researcher dedicated to preserving and sharing Nepal’s rich culinary heritage with the world. During his visit, he spent time with our core production team, sharing his knowledge, experience, and deep understanding of food and flavors. Even within his short half-day visit, our team learned so much. His insights were incredibly inspiring and enlightening, and we were amazed by the depth of his expertise.

Chef Vaidya has made Nepal proud on the global culinary stage, receiving his award while holding the national flag, with our country’s name displayed on the screen.

Today, we celebrate not just a collaborator, but a dear friend of Urban Food.

About a decade ago, Max came to Nepal from Germany as a Butcher Master — and quickly became part of the Urban family.

He spent months working side by side with our team in our factory — sharing knowledge, refining recipes, introducing new techniques, and helping us explore possibilities we hadn’t imagined before.

Over the years, he kept coming back — not just to work, but because he believed in what we were building.

Many of the foundations we stand on today carry his influence.

We are grateful for the friendship, the guidance, and the journey we continue to share.
