There’s always something about having a drink during a jatra.

In this episode of our Salicha Series, we stumbled into a community celebrating their festival music playing, people gathering, stories flowing.

And then, from somewhere in the crowd:

“Ohh, Rara Blues!”

Well… that was that.

We sat down, shared a few Rara Blues, traded stories about the jatra, and let the traditional music do its thing in the background.

No plans. No schedule.

Just a jatra, good people, good stories and Rara Blues in hand.

Sometimes, the best days are the ones you never planned.

There’s something beautiful about watching a tradition bring everyone together.

A little glimpse of Lakhe Nach in Pokhara, where people came together with music, dance, and so much energy to celebrate a tradition carried through generations. Seeing our culture being celebrated this way, even away from the Valley, was truly special.

And yes, we had some merch printed for the jatra, seeing them worn and celebrated along the way made our day.

Rain outside, hot bara on the plate, Salicha in hand; honestly, these are the little moments you end up remembering. A quick stop in Bhaktapur, good food, good company, and that little kick from the first sip of Rara Blues that hits just right. Nothing too planned, just sitting around, enjoying the rain, having a bite, and letting the evening unfold. And then Sauni aunty, as casually as ever, gives us the most important update: apparently, there are two types of Salicha. This one’s the Dugaan Salicha.😌🙌
