For chef and kitchen helper
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and portion control.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality and presentation standards.
- Follow proper cooking techniques and procedures to ensure consistency and taste.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station.
- Ensure all food items are properly stored and labeled.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Inform the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager of any shortages or inventory need
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred.
- Culinary training or certification is a plus.
Skills
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
