Family-owned Waiheke distillery on the site of the island’s first hotel. 🌿 Crafting award-winning gins & vodkas with native botanicals, pure rainwater & island spirit. ✨ Opening Hours
🍸 Garden Bar: Wed–Sun 11am–5pm

Perched high on Waiheke’s remote eastern ridge, our family-owned boutique distillery continues the tradition of island hospitality at Pikau Bay – the site of Waiheke’s very first hotel

in the 1890s. We craft award-winning gins and vodkas with native botanicals and a deep respect for sustainability. Every spirit is cut with pure Waiheke rainwater, distilled with unique ingredients like macadamia for a silky texture, and bottled on-site using solar power, reusable glass, and biodegradable packaging.

🌿 Signature botanicals include coastal kelp, kawakawa, horopito, hand-peeled NZ citrus, antioxidant-rich cherries, and rare pōhutukawa honey. Whether you’d like to:
✨ Drop in for a tasting paddle of gin or vodka
✨ Book a distillery tour
✨ Plan your next corporate event
✨ Or create bespoke-labelled gin for gifting

…we’d love to host you. Over summer, our garden bar comes alive with wood-fired pizza and good times.

📦 Distributed in NZ by Tasman Allied and available in the UK through Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange. Contact us directly for our Gin Attaché details in the UK.

Art has always been a reflection of its time.

Last week, our Waiheke Distilling Co. RTDs found themselves alongside some of the most thought-provoking contemporary works in the world at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki Partners Open Late event, celebrating Forever Tomorrow: Chinese Art Now.

The exhibition explores themes of transformation, rapid change and the way we navigate an evolving world. While the artworks told those stories through sculpture, photography and digital media, we were proud to represent a different kind of creative expression — one rooted in place.

Crafted on Waiheke Island using our award-winning spirits, our RTDs were designed to capture the essence of island life in a can. Thoughtfully made, easy to enjoy and built for modern occasions, they’re a small taste of Waiheke wherever you happen to be.

It was a privilege to see guests experiencing contemporary art while enjoying something created from our corner of New Zealand.

If you haven’t tried them yet, our RTDs are available online and delivered nationwide.

Built in 1908. Still turning heads.

The Jane Gifford is the last sailing scow of her kind in New Zealand, and this week our RTDs came along for the ride.

A century apart, but cut from the same cloth. Made properly. Made locally. Made to be shared.

Cold cans. Full sails. The Mahurangi River doing its thing.

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

If you missed it in the paper last week — or you’re one of the many people who follow us from afar — here’s a little taste of Waiheke to make at home.

Our Assistant Distiller Anaru recently shared his take on the Saturn, a classic tropical cocktail created in the 1960s by J. “Popo” Galsini for an international cocktail competition.

Using gin as its base, the Saturn balances bright citrus, passionfruit and almond into a cocktail that feels like sunshine in a glass.

“I wanted to showcase this drink as I’m a big fan of tropical cocktails, and I think gin is the perfect spirit for the creation. Plus, I think we could all do with an homage to summer as we head into the colder months.” — Anaru

🍸 THE SATURN

15ml lemon juice
15ml lime juice
10ml passionfruit syrup
30ml orgeat (almond syrup)
45ml Waiheke Dry Gin
15ml Spirit of Waiheke Gin

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker is cold to the touch and visibly frosty. Strain into a large rocks glass over crushed or pebble ice and garnish with citrus, flowers, or anything fun and tropical.

While you won’t find this cocktail on our Garden Bar menu, you will find plenty of other reasons to visit us this weekend. Join us for tasting flights, award-winning spirits, woodfired pizza, seasonal dishes and sweeping views across the Hauraki Gulf.

And for those further afield, you can shop our spirits online and bring a little Waiheke into your own home bar.

Visit our distillery or browse our range via the link in bio. PS Anaru’s Beef Rendang is to die for- comment Rendang below for his recipe! 🍛
