Meet another of the wonderful stallholders joining us at Maungawhau Market!

We’re excited to welcome Basque, founded by dessert chef Andre Valobra, whose passion lies in creating unique desserts inspired by his European and South American heritage. 🍰🌎

For Andre, the markets are about more than sharing his creations - it’s about community, connection and celebrating diverse cultures.

With a Master’s degree in Cookery and Hospitality Management, Andre has honed his craft as a private chef overseas and in some of New Zealand’s top cafés and restaurants. Andre's grandparents immigrated from Italy and France to a coastal town in Brazil, where they went on to open successful Italian restaurants — a legacy that continues to inspire his work today.

Come along, say hello to Andre, and grab a slice to make your Maungawhau Market morning even sweeter!🍰
