Formerly Harmony Home Dining of Christchurch, Anise is brought to Auckland by Chef Paul Duncan. I’ve been cooking for over 17 years now, starting at the tender age of 14. I developed a passion for Asian Fusion cuisine at Huka Lodge in Taupo, when I trained there in the early days. I can’t really explain the feeling of bliss when the balance of sweet, sour, salty & hot is achieved in an Asian dish.
Such is the feeling with the elegance & style of French cuisine, & the home cooked feel of Italian food. I often wondered what it would be like to take the restaurant to people’s home. I couldn’t see any reason why you couldn’t create the same or better experience as a fine dining restaurant in the comfort of your own home….so that’s what I did! I get a great sense of pleasure going blindly into people’s homes, laying out their table, placing the menus down, and delivering an experience that people won’t forget.
